  1. No way sending #8 for Hoffman. He scores, which is important, but may be the leagues' worst defensive forward. He could be had for less than #8, I would think
  2. Wonder if we would have taken Bennett or ekblad if van leapfrogged us. Easy to say now that it would have been ekblad since we have Eichel but my guess is we would have taken Bennett maybe even draisstal (bad spelling - than guy on edm)
  3. I respectfully disagree. Risto,in his draft year, was a better prospect than any dman in this years draft and he went back to juniors and may have played a little in Rochester after that? Those 4 forwards will probably all be taken before #8, with the possible exception of Nylander. Nylander has No chance of playing in the NHL this year as he gets pushed off the puck the OHL.
  4. The only player the Sabres could take at #8 who could possibly play next year for the Sabres is Serg. Other than him, they're all 2 years out, so Keller isn't any different than any of the others in that regard. He's juts better than the others.
  5. Truth comes out with alcohol
  6. We'll disagree there as I think Keller is absolutely a better prospect than Nylander. I do like nylander too, except for his timidness. I hope he is gone by #8 so gmtm isn't tempted
  7. Yep old Greggo is another fine example
  8. Interviews are nice but ej manual was a tremendous interview - how did that work out. I like chychrun too, but like Serg the best of dmen. I still would skip the dmen, get them via trade, UFA or 2nd/3rd round and take the player with the most talent/upside/wow factor: Clayton Keller
  9. Nash can be re-signed after 2 years if you wish. And if other pieces, like Stamkos, Vesey, Yandle, etc are added (not All of them, just examples) Nash can help you win a championship and teach the kids how to compete, etc. Having no veteran leaders leads a team to EDM
  10. If prospects are 2-3 years away it's the perfect time to trade for Nash. With a good offseason, the Sabres are ready to contend for a playoff spot now. Plus, Nash's contract ends when we have to sign RFAs like eichel and reinhart. Not saying it has to be Nash, but he's exactly the type of player you want to acquire to play RW on the Eichel line this offseason
  11. Sabres only have 50 contracts so would have no interest in that whatsoever. They want to get rid of picks (like trade 2 3rds for a late 2nd, a 3rd for Nash, etc....)
  12. Both on tkackuk. He definitely benefitted from playing on the Marner line (he had more 2ndary assists than any other junior player) but he is good. My worry about him is his lack of foot speed. I personally would not trade up for him, despite his genes.
  13. Edm has always really liked Bogo for what it's worth. Fair trade, I believe would be #8, a 3rd rounder or non-top prospect and Bogo for #4 and Reinhart. Gives edm a RHD and gives us a LHD, albeit one who has underwhelmed so far. Maybe reuniting him with his bro would help him??
  14. Nice list - 2 good things (1) there are some viable LHD for BUF and (2) the RHD list sucks and edm is desperate for RHD= more likely to trade down from #4 with BUF involving Bogo or pysyk
  15. Posted in the UFA thread, but interesting news - eichel and Vesey are playing for the same Boston summer team again. Can't be bad news right?
  16. For the second year in a row, Jack Eichel will be playing on the same Boston summer league as Jimmy Vesey. Hmmm.. Jack treat him well - a lot of passes to him. Maybe have a little talk with over beers?
  17. Blackthorn's sounds great - thanks. $700 for 4, so I think you should be able to get more than $500 Pro Scout. I was monitoring stub hub for a while and I bet if you put them for sale there for $700, they'd sell very quickly - average price is over $200 per and they are selling. sh*t, I should have posted here first as I would have gladly paid $500 or more for yours, although mine are in the 100 sections and most of the stub hub inventory is in the 300 sections at $200+ per
  18. Price doesn't matter - not to sound arrogant, but I'm used to NYC and CT pricing and with what I paid for the draft tickets ..... We went to Pearl Street Brewery when we were in town a couple of months ago and the wings were surprisingly good. To preface that, wings tend to suck around here as they never cook them long enough. We'll eat in the arena Friday night, but plan to eat around Pearl Street after Saturday's draft. What I'd love Saturday is a place with a good beer battered fish fry. Again, fried fish in CT/NYC tends to be inadequate - I don't mind travelling for the fish fry either.
  19. Excellent - I will try Brennan's or Duffs for lunch then, prob Brennan's as I've never been there before. Pearl street sounds good for after the draft on Saturday - won't be too packed I would think. Any recommendation of a restaurant on Pearl Street?
  20. Quick Request: Proud to say, I've secured draft tickets for my Sons (14 and 12) and myself and we'll be coming in from CT for both draft days. This is where I need your help. We're staying in the Hamptons Inn in Williamsville (downtown hotels were sold out, of course). Can I get recommendations for a great wings place near Williamsville for LUNCH on Friday and a cool place for dinner after the draft on Saturday? I grew up in Lakeview (Franny Grad followed by UB Grad) so know the area. I know Chef's and all of the restaurants in the south towns. Thanks ahead of time!!
  21. I'm all aboard the Keller train too though I doubt gmtm is. My guess is it's chychrun because of the upside and his ties to the Pegula family. This is the guy that was #2 overall going into the season, so the risk/reward thing is huge. I like Serg a little better but again he's goes against GMTM's draft history. I do think chychrun will see 9 games in the NHL too this year then will prob be sent down. The kid has it all except he has concentration lapses once in a while leading to stupid plays. We should also be able to get a LHD via FA or through a trade with a cash strapped team. Not sure I would go after Yandle.
  22. Yep we do need a LHD but saying we're desperate for one isn't exactly true. Often righthanded shooters prefer the offwing as the angle is better. I shoot lefty and preferred playing RW or RD if I wasn't playing center - makes one-timers easier also
  23. Top but I don't think he's top 2 material. Which is fine
  24. I agree with this - I think that serg will be the best of them. You can't teach 6'2" 220 at 18 years old with his skating ability, nastiness and shot
  25. I would think jack and Sam would be better. If you put someone on their wing that can actually score, they may be significantly better.
