Yep - people seem to pick and choose what they want about Vesey to justify their flawed opinions. Not sure why anybody would sign with a team early when he can look at 30 teams? And, he still may sign with buffalo. Seems like logic 101, that for some reason people can't comprehend.

Have you guys watched any Harvard/USA film on him? Thinking not so much, as you wouldn't be doubting his talent/top 6 potential. He may or may not come to Buffalo but he's never demanded a top 6 spot. All he has said is he's a reviewing rosters to see where he'll have the best opportunity.

Nope - you're right - I called in and discussed it with Peters and Rivet today - John from Ct...... I had discussed here and on other boards previously. It's a no-brainer, good-will type thing, I think cuz saves face for Vesey and let's him figure out prior to 8/15 if Buffalo really is the place. Would help with other contingency plans GMTM might have. We still retain exclusivity, in that he still wouldn't be able to sign with another team until 8/15. It would hopefully allow Vesey to determine he wants to go to BUF and sign with us well before the 8/15 time frame. Maybe you give him a window to speak to 5-10 teams from now until 7/15, or something like that??

I would allow Vesey to talk to other teams now but not sign with another team until 8/15. This would expedite the situation and possibly allow for him to sign with BUF early, while saving face, if he determines Buf is the best place to sign

Vesey will be signing with BUF - anything he or agent has said is posturing. I know is entry level contract is set at $925k but there are variables such as bonus structure, top 6 possibilities etc. He is playing for his 2nd contract and there still is a glaring hole on the eichel/reinhart line. There's probably not a better situation in the NHL. He's visiting Buffalo this week, don't be surprised if he signs. There's things to lose for Vesey if he waits to 8/15 - what if he really likes Buf but tells them he is waiting until 8/15. Sabres then trade for Nash and Vesey's top 6 opportunity with Buffalo goes away.
