Looks like Slovakia beat Sweden for the bronze, 4-2. Good on them. Godla was undrafted in 2014 and is eligible for 2015... his stock just rose tremendously.

It's official: Canada vs Russia in the gold medal game and Slovakia vs Sweden for bronze. Godla inexplicably not selected as the best Slovakian player. The (mostly Canadian) crowd starts chanting "goalie, goalie", Godla raises his glove in acknowledgement, and the crowd starts cheering. Pretty cool.

Absolutely. This game would be 10-1 if not for Godla standing on his head. Fucale has been good, too, but far less busy.

Godla (Slovakian goalie) was lights-out on an extended penalty kill. Three impressive saves in a row against Reinhart and McDavid. 5-1 now, Petan with a hat trick.

Beat me to it, lol. Was a really tight game until the last few minutes. The Slovakian goalie is the main reason it's been close, too. Ha! 3-1

Canada up 2-0 over Slovakia near the end of the second of the 2nd.

Dunno, couldn't find any news more recent than the game summaries... odd timing, too, with the Sabres off until Tues. (although they are on the road). :(

Ouch... doesn't bode well for Larsson's NHL career. Why the dual call-up, though? Was another forward injured/sick last night that I'm forgetting?
