Sabres player notes 2014-15 (callups, injuries, practice notes)
biodork replied to Hoss's topic in The Aud Club
I don't know if it's the weird glare / lighting, but the Foligno pic looks like a terrible Photoshop job to me, haha. -
I had no idea who that was, lol. And that is indeed fantastic, GCoE. So happy to hear it!

:( I know it's not uncommon for the Pacific Northwest, but I was hoping to get at least one clear day for some hiking around the Olympic Peninsula. We shall see.
-
Awesome -- congrats, d4rk!

Yeah, I'm afraid of that (the weather)... that area is under a flood warning through tonight and is expected to get more rain through Monday. :( We'll make the best of it... first time seeing the bf in almost 4 months, so being "stuck" indoors might not be all bad, either. ;)

After at least an hour of searching, I finally found my misplaced passport (whew!). And after today I'm off until Wed. Hoping the weather isn't a total wash in the Seattle area, but if so we'll head to the Great White North.
-
Well, that does it. At least Nolan tried pulling the goalie.

Not much chance on that one for Enroth.

Wow... you couldn't make this stuff up!

DON'T DO IT!! iOS 8 is not meant for older Apple tech (older being anything other than the iPhone 6 or iPad air, seemingly). My 3 year old iPad 2 was functioning just as well on iOS 7 as it had when I bought it, but iOS 8 ruined it. Safari in particular is downright awful, but it's buggy all around now. I wish downgrading were still an option. :( My silly complaint for the day: PA's name change. We can't have TWO Yuri's, dammit! :P Only the post count tipped me off.

This barber is awesome, hahaha: http://www.foxcarolina.com/story/28022916/snellville-barber-offers-old-man

As crummy as that would be of the NHL to do, I feel no sympathy for the greedy NBC folks who continue to relegate my favorite game to a high-tier cable channel with no alternative (paid) viewing options.

The sad part is that there's no way (currently) to know whether something else later on might have triggered it had you taken a pass. I wish there were legitimate research being done on the subject rather than morons shouting about mercury and other such nonsense. I certainly hope you're right, NS.
-
Huh -- I've actually never noticed it before, and now that I looked for it I realize I'd seen it but had no idea what the purpose was, lol.
-
Sounds like a real page-turner. :P And I miss reading... I always have other stuff I should be doing, and if a book is good I can't "just" read for a couple minutes before bed because I'll get sucked into it and realize an hour or two later it's way too late, haha.
-
 I just started the third one after obsessively reading the other two in large blocks of my evenings the last week or two. I'm trying to leave it alone until this weekend since I'll have time to read on planes and I have other things I should be doing now, but GD these books are good.

We'll have to wait until August to see if this guy can hold a candle to Stieg Larsson, but at least for now it's awesome that Lisbeth Salander will live on: http://www.vulture.com/2015/01/that-which-does-not-kill-dragon-tattoo-sequel.html

I blame Eleven. :P

Yeah, it wasn't a smart move on their part. I hope this isn't quickly forgotten in Jordan and they continue to engage and encourage others to do the same.
-
Sadly, yes. If the focus remained on situations like yours where resources should be put to use (finding out why a small subset of people have adverse reactions), we could get somewhere. Instead these idiot "crunchy moms" and their ilk are ruining things for everyone.

Meanwhile, in ISIS/ISIL news: http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2015/02/04/383742600/jordan-executes-2-militants-after-isis-burns-captured-pilot-alive A new and awful level of brutality... the only positive is that the more they do things like this, the more countries who were on the fence will decide to join the fray.

As much as I'm glad this woman came around, I find this quote from her particularly telling: Once A Vaccine Skeptic, This Mom Changed Her Mind So you chose not to vaccinate your children because of who YOU wanted to be, and not out of some legitimate religious or medical exception. Nice.

That's pretty crazy... I never would've guessed Stafford's stats were better than Vermette's. I'm not opposed to him being traded if the return is good. As far as Myers, it sounds like at least Nolan is hoping he isn't traded: http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/sabres-nhl/sabres-notebook-nolan-wants-myers-to-be-a-building-block-20150203
