  1. I'm sorry, Blue and shrader. :( And d4rk, I hope you feel better! My complaint this week is shallow but I'm gonna say it anyhow. I have to go to a baby shower on Saturday for a friend from high school. First off, I dislike baby showers even more than I dislike babies. Trying to guess baby food flavors and playing other stupid games while pretending to fawn over little clothes and the like... ugh. And there's usually no booze, except there might be for this one because her mother is a functioning alcoholic. The really horrible part of the shower is that her mom, who is hosting, lives in a trailer park. I've been there before and it's not a bad area or home, and she's a nice lady, but FFS how are you going to host a baby shower in a trailer on a tiny lot in a trailer park?!? WTF?
  2. Huh; who knew? I've noticed it with good parmesan sometimes, but I guess I haven't had pinkies-out mozarella.
  3. It kind of melts. I used to work in a steakhouse with a menu item called "tip pasta" with noodles, sirloin tips, melted blue cheese crumbles, and some kind of sauce. The servers all called it "foot pasta". Provolone doesn't smell like anything, and Fritos don't bother me.
  4. Huh... I get that's probably tasty, but it doesn't sound good, haha. Here's the Buffalo chicken dip recipe (I sub Greek yogurt for the sour cream): http://www.skinnytaste.com/2010/02/lighter-buffalo-chicken-dip.html
  5. Wtf are "burnt ends"? Lol
  6. The other thread has me fiending for chicken wings, but I kept telling myself I should eat the leftovers in my fridge, which is this: http://greatist.com/eat/recipes/linguine-citrusy-yogurt-and-tuna-sauce Except I had a stroke of genius on the way home; I've made low-cal buffalo chicken dip with Franks and plain Greek yogurt, so could I add Franks to this pasta? I know it probably sounds weird, but the Greek yogurt makes a surprisingly creamy sauce, and canned tuna mimics the texture of shredded chicken. It works, I tell you! Not wings, but at least a good alternative to scratch the itch for wing flavor.
  7. Lol I don't know how else to explain it... melted blue cheese is especially bad, but I hate all stinky cheeses because they remind me of stank feet (not mine). Clearly I'm not the only one if you've heard this from others!
  8. More blue for you! :P It would seem that TBPhD's name is not entirely accurate, though.
  9. Wish I knew! I'm new to the wing game; I avoided them for years because I don't like spicy food. I've realized that I really love the flavor of a good vinegar based sauce, but I don't like the wing itself very much, lol.
  10. 100% agreed... I hate that sh!t. It smells like feet, dammit! And now I want wings, too. Curse you all!
  11. Whoa -- never saw that one! We had the 2600 when I was a kid.
  12. lol I wondered when you would notice that. ;)
  13. He/she hasn't posted the last couple of weeks, but there was a Yuri sighting last month and the latest login was just two days ago: http://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/23244-desert-dogs-vancouver-4-9-2015-10pm-est/page-3?do=findComment&comment=677143 Edit: NS partially beat me to it.
  14. Very cool find, Liger. Those pics are quite a contrast!
  15. Now that would be something to see! Same here... much as I badly want another dog, it wouldn't be fair to get one right now when I can't spend enough time at home.
  16. Awesome indeed (d4rk, not the owners). One of the guys down my street is forever leaving his beautiful Husky chained outside in their small yard for hours on end. The poor thing just sits there on a picnic table, bored out of its mind. I don't know if they leave food and water but it makes me sad. Why even have pets if you aren't going to treat them like family?
  17. Best. Game. EVA. And you can still re-live the dream: http://www.amazon.com/Atari-2600-Joystick-Video-System/dp/B001BAFI2S
  18. Finally trying Larceny tonight. Man, this stuff is smooth. Liquor store had that and Domaine de Canton (ginger liqueur) on sale, so picked up both and made a Gold Rush drink with the two. It's funny that the recipe is printed on both bottles but the proportions disagree; each lists 1/2 part lemon juice, but the DdC bottle has 1.5 parts ginger to 1 part bourbon, while the Larceny bottle has the opposite. I went with the latter, and it is delicious. Kind of like a bourbon sour without the extra sugar, and very refreshing on a warm evening. Here's to a better weekend than this past week!
  19. lol it's all a mindset, man... 30 was anticlimactic. Enjoy your b-day weekend. I certainly am. Unfortunately after more than two weeks I still haven't heard back from her. :( I did, however, finally hear back about a more local job I'd applied for a while back. Phone interview with the recruiter went well and he was going to recommend they contact me to schedule an in-person interview, although I'm not sure how soon they'll be doing that (it sounded like they were going through candidates in batches). I'm not sure I actually want this job, and it'd be almost an hour commute each way, but I find myself hoping it works out anyhow because it would be a solid pay increase and I need to come to terms with the fact that I simply can't afford to sell my house and move like I want to after all the termite stuff. Hopefully everything will work out somehow.
  20. Why yes; yes there are (old thread that could use reviving): http://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/19920-the-official-beer-appreciation-thread/?do=findComment&comment=304528
  21. Upon closer inspection, it appears I may need to replace some drywall... I can see several places where they've eaten tracks close to the wall surface. :(
  22. Sounds like you could use one of these:
  23. I mean, I know what they are, but I haven't done either one myself so I wouldn't be a competitive candidate for that position.
  24. I've been checking there and Roswell periodically, but nothing so far that matches my expertise. :( (I don't have experience with liquid chromatography and mass spec.)
