Guy from the water company was out this morning to do a scheduled replacement of the meter in my basement. On his way out to check the reading outside the house, he accidentally stepped on a baby bunny that was hiding in the grass right next to the sidewalk. :( Poor thing kicked and moved in circles for a minute before it stopped, and when he was done checking the meter it was dead. He and I both felt terrible (him for stepping on it, and me for not having found time to cut the grass recently). :cry:

Since the Friday thread is still locked, this goes here: I have an interview on Tues. next week!!! :D The woman my boss referred me to finally got back to me (after almost three weeks!) and I'm going to meet her. She has a couple of opening at the new institution, so we're going to talk about the different options and see if anything is a good fit. Fingers crossed!

I don't know, but I have a hard time picturing it being any better than Phoenix... it's still in a desert, and mostly populated by tourists who have a multitude of other (and cheaper) options for entertainment. Could be better than Florida, though.

Yeah it's normally understood that guys are exempt from all that nonsense and are free to go drink while the ladies carry on. And most of the ladies are happy to attend, but I am the anti-female and hate this sort of thing. If I ever get married and have my own kinds (unlikely) I will refuse to have either a bridal or a baby shower. It's just another pain in the ass party where people feel compelled to buy you more crap.

:P Fortunately my friend has very little in common with her mom, lol. She's a school teacher in MD and has been happily married for a few years now, so no questions about paternity. I'm just glad this isn't a surprise shower because I would've felt compelled to warn her in advance.
