How has no one else touched this yet today? I paid the movers to pack my kitchen, thinking they'd surely do a better job with my dishes than I could because they should have specialty boxes. I don't know about the plates, but seeing how the glasses were packed has me rather worried for what I'll find on the other side. The guy who packed it was so thorough that he packed the dirty dishes I'd intentionally set aside in the dishwasher to take in my car, but not so thorough as to avoid missing an entire cabinet filled with canned goods and the pans in the oven drawer. Consequently, I spent another $80 shipping things to myself that would not fit in the car. He also refused to pack any of my oils, vinegars, etc. from the pantry, but apparently had no qualms about packing a jug of pesticides in with my kitchen goods. :wallbash: And I haven't seen a Sabres game since preseason. :(

It's finally opening night for the Sabres, and I won't be able to watch the game. :( The movers called at noon and said they would be there at 8 a.m. tomorrow, so now I'm on my way back to my friends' house in Maryland, then need to go up to the house in Pennsylvania to finish packing. D'oh.

This made me chuckle. (And agreed.)

And I just found out the appraiser who went through my house yesterday apparently left the f*cking door unlocked when he left. :censored:

The radiation treatment is starting to catch up to my dad. He's being a trooper, but he's tired and it's hard for him to want to eat when the inside of his mouth feels like it's got 2nd degree burns. He keeps waking up to cracked and bleeding lips, too. He's trying to convince me to let him stay over this weekend and help me pack up the house, but I really don't think it's a good idea because he needs to rest. 14 treatments to go...

Thanks, folks! Already planning on getting tix when the Sabres visit in January, so hopefully I'll get to see #15 in person then. :)

Thanks, all! Added bonus for the day: the Chinese grad student just brought in little moon cakes for everyone. The pre-packaged kind are like the Chinese equivalent of a Twinkie, but hey, still free food!

Finally signed my official job offer letter for the new gig in Colorado today. Thank you, God!!

Random extra observation: I can't believe the TO announcers referred to Luongo as "Bobby Lou", lol.

Missed the first period, but saw the 2nd and 3rd and that was fun. Some thoughts: - Lehner was luckier than good early on, but he looked better as the game wore on and very good in the 3rd. - Eichel. Wow. (Anyone catch what the crowd chanted as he was coming out of the box in the third?) - Thank goodness Ennis is okay. - Hope Guhle isn't concussed. That hit looked a little like charging, but either way he got crushed. - Good for Rodriguez. More, please!

 I really want him to prove me wrong, but not terribly impressed with him so far. Maybe getting some full games will help him get into a groove.

Jealous. Some day, some day...

Yeah, same here. Poo. -
THIS. When this board went from one of my last bastions of enjoyment to someplace I could barely tolerate and I no longer cared whether the team was even playing. Thank God it's all over now.
-
That's the best explanation I've heard so far!
-
I'm hoping at least one of them proves he can be the starter with more consistent playing time, but I feel like should be either guy's job to win at this point.
-
I'd consider them both backups right now!
-
I really don't know why Lehner is being described as our "starter" when he's far from proven... it should be an open competition.

Suh-WEET D'oh

Lol Marty bringing up the fight with Emery back in the day.

Seriously! And I'm always impressed when Ennis drops a bigger guy like that (the check, not the fight).
