The number of debates is fine, but I wish they'd stop putting them on Sat. evenings when I'm more interested in watching hockey or not at home!
-
Thanks! Sounds like night and day; glad to hear his prognosis is good.

What a cool idea: Denver Cat Company Celebrates First Anniversary

Ha! Well she knows now that something is amiss and we're working on finding time to meet and discuss (privately) in more detail... hoping for early next week, but her schedule is pretty booked so we shall see. My boss is honestly a great person who obviously cares about her employees, so I'm hoping things will go well but I'm still not sure where we go from here.
-
Right? I was shocked when I opened the card. We have a large group, too, so I didn't expect her to do anything, really. Very nice on her part. I'm glad I already gave her a gift (made candied pecans for her family) earlier this week!!

Hard to say... no easy solution, but it seems like they should be able to come up with something. As the meme says, I want the NHL to SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! Agreed -- I like that part, too (even if it occasionally gets old hearing Roby talk about bulging veins).

Good time at the work holiday party, especially since the coworker is apparently out sick today (not that she could be bothered to tell me about it), and my boss gave me a $100 gift card to True Food Kitchen!! Wow.
-
Yeah... and if it's a money thing, can't they build the price into GCL so they aren't "losing out" by not having us pay for cable? All I want is for them to offer me a way to pay them for something I want without buying cable, and they can't manage to do that. (And welcome to the board, Dr. Phil!)

Holiday work party this afternoon, then two days away from the horrible coworker and a chance to go snowboarding again. TGIF.
-
This surprised me as well.

This gets repeated often, but it's not entirely accurate; you can only stream live NBCSN games via the app if you already pay for a cable or satellite subscription because you have to log in with those credentials for the app to work. If you have a friend or family member who pays for cable and feels like sharing that info, then sure. But if you do not, that app is useless to you. I think it's only certain providers that allow this, too. See here: http://stream.nbcsports.com/liveextra/faqs.html

Very true, and it was good to see the CBJ players recognized it and didn't feel compelled to "send a message". Eh... THIS.
-
He really is. Classy move on his part to check on the goalie after the hit and retrieve his helmet for him. Just tuned in at the end, but cripes, 7-5? More like a baseball score. Here's the collision:
-
Just watched the condensed game, and that looked fun. Good showing by the Sabres and good on Johnson for getting the shutout.
-
Wow, Max Domi just flattened the CBJ's goalie (accidentally) going in on a breakaway. Guy cracked his head on the ice and staying in the game. Sheesh.

That's great news, iTlnSn! Happy to hear your dad is doing well.
-
I'm guessing you're right because that was the case the last few times, I think... he can't seem to help himself when it comes to that particular topic. Shame, but if that's the reason then he had a number of warnings ahead of time.

USPS isn't exactly kicking ass, either... sent three packages Monday via Priority Mail to PA and MD, all with expected delivery dates of today. One was delivered, another probably won't get there until tomorrow, and the last one is still in CO. :wallbash:
-
I tried calling customer service last night to get them to upgrade it to overnight delivery so it'd still get there today, but they told me they couldn't help me and I had to go to the UPS store where I dropped it off. I'm going to try to tomorrow morning, but I'm expecting them to blame the driver for not taking the package. Either someone there flat-out lied when I called the store yesterday afternoon to confirm the package had left the store and they assured me it had and just wasn't scanned, or someone at the distribution facility effed up. :censored:

Oh, unrelated shipping complaint. I baked a loaf of dessert bread for friends of mine Monday evening with plans to ship it Tues. morning. They live near San Francisco, which would probably only be 2 days by Priority Mail, but the post office is sometimes unreliable this time of year so I decided to go with UPS. This was a smaller box that weighed 2.6 lbs, and they wanted almost $80 to ship it overnight and $35 for 2nd day. I gulped and opted for 2nd day because it's perishable and I didn't want it to spend too long in transit. I left the UPS store at 9:30am with a receipt showing an expected delivery date of 12/17 (today). This is the tracking status on their website: Scheduled Delivery Updated To: Friday, 12/18/2015, By End of Day Last Location: Departed - Louisville, KY, United States, Thursday, 12/17/2015 Shipment ProgressWhat's This? I must've missed it as well, although I haven't kept up here as much as I'd like the last few weeks.
