This is about where I fall. Beautiful pics, NS (and everyone else).

That's awesome, N'eo.

I'd been thinking about getting a bike for several months now (it's practically a requirement in CO, haha), but my last bike had streamers, and my last attempt at riding the bf's mountain bike proved the adage about muscle memory isn't entirely true. But a couple weeks ago I found a great deal on a Thule bike rack, and today I picked out a Trek 820 bike. Don't have it on hand yet since I put it on layaway and plan to ask family to chip in towards it rather than buying other b-day presents, and I was still wobbly and unconfident testing it out in the store, but dammit, I'm gonna re-learn. You're an inspiration, Egg.

I'm with you, wjag:

Yeah... it's embarrassing how many hours at work I spend surfing the internet because there's either not much work to do or I don't care about the work I have to do. I hate what this job is doing to me.

Good stuff, folks. Like weave, if I get a particularly good shot, it's mostly attributable to luck and good scenery vs. any particular skill on my part. I couldn't tell you the first thing about filters and post-processing, although I'm impressed by people who know how to do all that.

I've always been someone who takes pride in my work, but the current situation has me so beat down that I just don't give a F about work anymore. I hate being like that, but it's become just a paycheck and I'm working for the weekends.

Yep. I could do a far better job if I were allowed to do it my way, but instead I've got my hands tied to do the half-assed way and the end result is still on me. So stupid.

Being responsible for things when you're not actually allowed to be in charge of them. And FedEx. Still. Jeebus I'm tired.

Good point. He certainly seems happier being out of the three-ring circus that was the House, too.

lol I wish I could've just linked the video without FB, but it's pretty good. First time Boehner has ever come off as likable (to me), lol.

On a lighter note, this is pretty funny: https://www.facebook.com/WhiteHouse/videos/10154334233364238/

I've no idea; Microbiology was never my strong suit! Was just amused by your triumphant last sentence. :)

Chia seed pudding. I've had it before and liked it, but I made it myself the other day and for some reason the texture is very off-putting now. Maybe didn't sweeten it enough or restaurant versions were partially blended, but wish I hadn't wasted so many chia seeds on this recipe. :/

This week is almost over, and that is F'N Fantastic.

Holy crap, Jo... that is so badass!

These damned energy-efficient lights at work are making me batty. I'm all for saving the planet and reducing wasted resources, but FFS when I'm sitting at my desk during normal work hours I don't want the lights to turn off every 15 min.! Can't they set it to stay on when switched in the morning and only use the sensors after 6pm or something? Sheesh.

THIS all day long. Drives me bonkers. I worked long hours (voluntarily) both Sat. and Sunday, and also stayed absurdly long on Monday trying to finish this damned project that I couldn't get to last week because I had to spend an inordinate amount of time fighting with FedEx about some international shipments we'd prepared. It's complicated and would take too long to type out, but basically they somehow decided to re-label one of the packages I sent last Monday with a different tracking #, and then assigned the one that I'd used originally to a completely different shipment I sent on Wed. I sent two identical packages on Wed. and one made it to its destination and the other was returned to me yesterday after far too many hours on the phone with FedEx and much confusion as to which package it was since they'd completely switched the tracking info unbeknownst to me. UGH.

Thanks! :) Have fun this weekend!

Today is my dad's last hyperbaric treatment. He's been able to taper down from 75 mg (!) Fentanyl patches to 12 mg, and plans to be done with those in the next two weeks. He also has a consultation next Thursday with a surgeon at Johns Hopkins to look into jaw reconstruction options now that he's finally almost healed. It's been a long time coming, and I'm so happy for him.

This is messed up. At least they are trying to address the problem in retrospect, but the number of people who were prevented from voting on Tuesday is staggering and inexcusable. http://abc7ny.com/politics/new-york-city-board-of-elections-official-suspended-following-primary-voting-issues-in-brooklyn/1303541/
