Lol you know I'm only teasing... I'm the pansy who wears granny biker gloves, a vest, and a (winter) scarf inside at work when it's 67 degrees!

Ha! I *almost* checked there, but I remembered a similar thread from the past and ignored it. :flirt:

I can't get over the core / abdominal strength you must have to do stuff like that... seriously impressive.

My dad had cataract surgery on Tuesday, and he'll get the second eye done Monday next week. He had terrible vision even before the cataracts, but now the corrected eye has gone from something like 20/200+ (legally blind) to 20/25! After the other is done (assuming it goes similarly well), he won't have to wear glasses for the first time since he was a child. :)

off topic Star Wars - now with SPOILERS! (Read at your own risk)

Gah, I have to wait until sometime next week since my movie buddy is busy tonight and tomorrow and I've got plans this weekend. Soon, very soon, though! -
Forgot the complaint I was gonna put here: I liked the politics thread (most of the time), and I have no intention of going over to TBD. Oh well. It had a good run!
-
Separate (and lame) complaint: our holiday lunch is today at 11:30am. I have so much work to do, and all morning I've been thinking about the cheesecake bars I made and when can I eat them?? D'oh.

This is a much better way to go about it. I'm sure there are people who want and/or mean to donate and simply forget, and your method probably helps with that. YES!
-
THIS. I am a charitable individual who donates both cash and goods throughout the year. I often give folks who wait at intersections $ if I happen to have cash and they do look to be in need. But I really hate it when someone tries to guilt me into donating someplace. The guy you're describing may well be a cheap POS, or he may be someone like Boyes or myself who resents being coerced into it just so someone else can say they met their quota.

Congrats!

Wow, those moves where you're holding her up and she's dangling by her feet are nuts! Very, very cool. Next stop, Cirque du Soleil! ;)

Thanks! Wish I'd taken more, but my fingers were freezing once we stopped at the lake and the wind kicked up. Haha yes!! I'm sure there's somewhere within an easy drive (even if it's over the border) that would be pretty! :) Forgot to post this one; lots of the fluffy stuff!

It was gorgeous; wish the skies had cleared for a bit so we could see more, but my friend put it best when she described it as "like walking through a Christmas card". Probably 6-8" of fresh snow and continued to fall throughout the day. When I tried snowshoeing for the first time last winter, I was mildly surprised to see that they looked nothing like tennis rackets.

Anytime! If you're getting the SNM online, it might be worth getting both the warm and cool therapy gel... the former is great for sore muscles, and the latter is really good for acute injuries with bruising and/or inflammation.
-
 Hopefully you can find at least one of them locally; I've found Arnica Gel at drug stores in the past, but the Sore No More is harder to find. I stumbled across them myself a few years back after Googling something like "what to do after you bash your knee on ice snowboarding?" LOL Even better! (Ibuprofen is a good idea, too, since it's anti-inflammatory.)

OUCH!! Get yourself some of this stuff: http://www.arnicare.com/google/?gclid=CjwKEAiAyanCBRDkiO6M_rDroH0SJAAfZ4KL45DoPtkcmG4pQLo4sPbJOwGhwDTgFkZ1-4FhGY_v_BoCwpLw_wcB And this: http://sorenomoreusa.com/cool-therapy-gel Both awesome for bruising.

Weird! It looks like a giant CD made of plastic that was left to bake and dry out in the heat over a few decades.

 That's a travesty. I made a reference to Art Vandelay last week, and thankfully I was around others who were old enough to get the reference. Kids these days have never even seen a 5 1/4 and call the 3 1/2 a floppy! (And I'm guilty of calling the 3 1/2 a hard disk. ) :w00t:
-
Complaint: kids that have no idea what an actual floppy disk is. I feel old.

I was going to post about work in the Complaint thread since there's been no shortage of material the last two weeks, but today my brother got a job offer (he accepted and starts on Monday)! He's been out of work for more than a year, so thank God for this. Hopefully in a few months my dad will be able to go back to work, too (after all the reconstruction and dental implants are finished). Been a long time since we've all been fully employed.

Impressive, Jo!
