For some reason, this instantly made me think of Weird Science. Which reminds of something else that is awesome: cheesy 80s movies!

Homemade coconut almond chip ice cream. So excited to have an ice cream maker. :)

I assumed it had more to do with people still enjoying complaining about the game last night, but hey, I guess I'll be that guy (girl). ;)
-
Sheesh, almost 3pm EST and no one has posted here yet?? Come on, people! :P I'm pretty excited that I don't have to get up early tomorrow. Also happy/relieved that the construction the floor above us is finished for the day, so it no longer sounds as though someone is going to come crashing through the ceiling onto my desk.

That sucks, man. Hope something better comes along for you. That's fantastic. Damn; my happy hour date canceled, so no Shamrock-tini for me tonight. :(
-
Can't wait to finish up at work and hit happy hour for a Shamrock-tini at a local bar. Yeah it's kinda girlie, but it'll be green and festive (and alcoholic!). :)

That's impressive -- congrats to her!

And the other is... ? (I'm going to go with, who are secretaries, Alex?)

THIS. Our entire HR department fits your description. Rush Limbaugh. Enough said.

I'd definitely consider it if he were younger, but my dog is almost 17 and has never been to a kennel so I'm not sure how he'd handle it. He's also kind of high maintenance (three different meds, needs help eating soft food since he doesn't have many teeth left, and prone to accidents), so it's a lot to ask of someone I don't know and trust pretty well. My dad is always happy to take him, but he lives two hours away and for a short vacation it's not worth the extra travel on my end. :( The things I do for this dog, lol. He's worth it, though. :) I've never been to any of them (pretty silly considering Elk is only a little over 2 hours away). Good to know about Plattekill... I might have to check that one out next season!

I'd really like to hit up Elk or Hunter Mountain. Hunter Mtn especially has insane deals this time of year ($89 for a liftside condo + a lift ticket??). Actually one of our local places arranged for a crazy good deal with Stratton in VT where you can stay at the Inn and get a full day lift ticket for $49.95 if you have a pass to the local place. I'd love to go, but have no one to watch my dog. :(

Snowboarding season is pretty much over... all the local places are going to be closed as of this weekend. :( And much as I enjoy the warmer weather, I'm always reminded this time of year how much I did not miss all the bugs on my porch in the evenings during the wintertime!

My attempt at recreating ChileanSeaBass's Buffalo chicken chili. Om nom nom.

I realize this is nowhere near Buffalo, but curious as to whether anyone has attended this (and if so, how was it)? TAP New York Craft Beer and Food Festival http://tap-ny.com/about.html

Thanks for sharing, man! That sounds fantastic.

Lunch today would have made the EpicMealTime guys proud: huge BBQ pulled pork sandwich for me, and the bf had a burger topped with spicy BBQ pulled pork and bacon. Mmmm, tasty animals. And now, German Chocolate Fudge Bites: http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2012/02/08/german-chocolate-fudge-bites/

Bump. Two awesome wins in the West this week, the acquisition of a REAL center who is (thus far) exceeding expectations, and Miller playing out of his mind with a nice shutout streak going. F'N Fantastic.

Ooo, oooo, can I buy an 'S'?

Gesundheit. Hmm, must have missed that. She is dead to the world for a solid 8-9 hours after taking hers. Do they make a stronger dose?
-
 sorry, Eleven, but that was funny!

I hate that I have to choose between MSG in SD and the opponent's broadcast in HD when the Sabres are on the road. You really should look into a prescription sleep aid. My friend (the crazy one you've met) resisted for years because of concerns over addiction, but she recently started using one (Ambion CR?) once or twice a week and it really works for her.

Why is this post so tiny and hard to read? :P Ah yes, that reminds me of my own auto-related complaint (can't recall whether I already shared this one): on Saturday, I take my car in for three things: 1) 150,000 mile maintenance 2) state inspection 3) replacement of the main catalytic converter and one or both sensors, depending on the code Easily going to be over $1000 for #3 alone, and really hoping they don't find anything else needed to inspection. Thank God for tax refunds, although I'd much rather be using mine for other things. :(
