NH projected for Obama.
-
So glad Elizabeth Warren is going to win the Mass. Senate seat.
-
Those are pretty fun.

PA projected for Obama!
-
I definitely agree on that (as I sit watching the ever-changing data). I think they should wait until at least 60-70% of the votes are in for a state, because what is the point of telling us when only 5% of the precincts are reporting? It could absolutely influence some of the people going to the polls later and on the west coast.
-
Holy cow, VA. Good on you guys for waiting in line to vote a full 1.5 hrs after poll closings.
-
Boy NC is close so far. Only 34% of the votes are in, but 50/49%.
-
Just saw your edit; thanks and hopefully no hard feelings. Today is clearly high-stress for a lot of us (myself included). So long as no one goes this far: Man kills family and self for fear of Obama re-election

Actually I had the same electronic touchscreen as in the video (fortunately not the same issues). Surprising given my township isn't that large.

Oh FFS, Taro, lighten up... I just said I misunderstood your position. Your earlier statement was written in a manner that could be misconstrued, and I apologize for misunderstanding it. Saying you've been defamed is a little over the top, don't you think?
-
I'm not equating them; it was my impression from your earlier post that you were doing so, and that's why I said yours may not have come off as intended. Sounds like we misunderstood each other, so no harm, no foul.
-
It may not have come out as intended, but your prior statement is the one to which LPF and I responded. Equating birth control with emergency contraceptives and abortions is pretty extreme IMO.
-
To the first bolded: is that kind of like Florida voters being told they can vote via phone? Seems shady. To the second bolded, amen.
-
I admitted that may be my own personal bias at work. No need to go that route.
-
It's possible, but I would venture a guess that the volume of quotes is much less for Obama, and more often reflects a thoughtful change in opinion rather than pandering to different crowds. Just my personal bias, though. Hope everyone finds time to get out and vote today.

I don't disagree that the dailykos is heavily pro-Obama, but that doesn't make their reporting of direct Romney quotes irrelevant. It's on that site because someone there cared enough to look all those up, but the quotes are his own and speak for themselves.
-
D4rk, I don't know if it helps or even matters at this point, but this link hits on one of the main reasons why I won't be voting for Romney: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/11/04/1154799/-500-reasons-to-vote-against-Mitt-Romney-and-for-Barack-Obama IMO, Romney is (or was) a good guy who at some point became convinced he was the solution to our nation's problems, and since then has said and done anything necessary to get elected. After several months of campaigning I still don't know exactly where he stands on several key issues because he seemingly changes his answers depending on who's listening. Someone who will lie to get the job is unlikely to suddenly become honest if they get it, and I want my President to represent me and not Sheldon Adelson. The selection of Paul Ryan as his running mate is also a huge red flag for me, as I strongly disagree with his stance on pretty much everything. I may not approve 100% of Obama's policies thus far, but I believe he has us on the right path and will follow through on his promises to the benefit of society as a whole, so far as Congress will allow. No matter who everyone decides to vote for tomorrow, please make the effort to get out there and be heard.

Lol I saw that Sat night... The "translators" and Spanish bit were hilarious.
-
Well, not necessarily... I've been rate shopping recently myself and I recall some of the sites asking how long I'd been with my current insurer. No idea what that does to my quote, but it might be better to shop every few years (3+) rather than annually. Just a guess on my part, though.
-
I'm surprised at the two votes for "other". Wonder if those are for Gary Johnson or d4rksabre? ;)
-
Hmmm... So I just tried clicking on "use mobile version" and nothing changed. Maybe I'm on the mobile site after all? Still, it's not the same as the super-spartan version I get with my phone's browser.

I've had both State Farm and Allstate (currently the latter). State Farm has very competitive rates and I would have stayed with them had I not been able to get a much lower rate on my homeowner's policy with Allstate. My only beef was that they didn't automatically set me up with comprehensive coverage when they wrote the policy (I was 18 and didn't know any better), since it costs almost nothing to add but ended up costing me $350 to replace my windshield after some punk kids decided to destroy it. I filed 2 claims with them over 11 or so years and my rates never spiked (only 1 was an "at-fault" accident), and they were good about getting estimates and checks out quickly. That being said, I do appreciate that my deductible is now only $100 with Allstate since I haven't filed a claim in several years.
-
I have the same problem. Strangely I don't think I'm even on the mobile site because I've seen that one from my phone (hate it), and there's a link at the far bottom left that says "use mobile version". It's like some odd composite of the full and mobile sites.

I actually did see the press conferences Sat. and Sun. (for some reason we had a NY news station in the Dominican), but I just figured he was playing the typical "be calm, don't panic" leadership card. I do recall him saying something Sat. night about the rationale for not making the call on schools and transit for Monday yet being to avoid unnecessary financial stress on parents who would need to make other arrangements if their kids were off. I agree that NY probably can't fully evacuate in 24 hours, but honestly, given how many people tend to ignore such orders and stay behind anyhow, do you think it would have mattered if he'd signed the evacuation order on Sat.? (And thanks.)
-
Maybe I'm missing something, but you do realize that this article was written Sat. and in his conference he'd indicated they would be making further decisions on Sunday (and that they did announce school closings and mandatory evacuations in the Sunday conference), right? If people watched Sat. and couldn't be bothered to tune in Sunday, knowing additional announcements would be made, then shame on them.
