Argh, more f*cking idiots making extra work for me... stupid purchasing dept guy tells me 5 min. ago he needs documentation TODAY on several items. I have them mostly together already because I'm going to be out next week, but I need my boss to sign them before I can send over and he's in clinic seeing patients most of the day. I'm reminded of the phrase "A failure to plan on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine!" Argh.

lol not as bad as it sounds, but time-consuming and requires the use of equipment that others also need, so it's really inconvenient when I can't plan accordingly. It's also mucking up my plans for the day, since I thought I'd be done with the samples by noon and it's looking like I won't even be able to start until 11am. And good luck with your likely customer rush tomorrow, although at least it's job security for you, eh? ;)

Let's hope they can start to put together a win streak. It seems like more often than not, the Sabres flounder from the beginning of the season through their first long road trip (normally to the west coast) and then pull it together. I hope that is the case tonight and they start to regain some confidence so the real evaluation of who should stay or go a the end of the season can start taking place.

I stayed at work until 10pm last night just to finish a big project so I could send the results to my boss and be done with it, knowing I had to come in early this morning to process patient samples. I drag my ass out of bed early, get here at 9am, only to be left in the lurch because no one bothered to relay when the patients were actually coming in and who should get the samples. I've been here over an hour now and I'm still waiting. :censored: Very grumpy.

Great stuff, PA.

That's the most animated I think I've ever heard Hodgson (with Hamilton). Thank goodness for a win!

Ugh

Good news on Kaleta at least.
-
Damn.
-
So close, Vanek!
-
Uh oh, looked like a shoulder/arm problem for Kaleta. Hope it's nothing serious.

That sucks. First I've noticed it (although I haven't been watching much lately). Guess I'll try the away feed for intermission.
-
WTH... Why do I have a message the game is in intermission rather than the actual intermission feed? Anyone else with GCL have the same problem?
-
Happy b-day, d4rk! We doin' shots again? ;) First night in ages I'm free to just relax at home and watch the game. A win would be great, but I want to see signs of life and positive changes in the players, first and foremost.

Congrats, Arc!

Agreed; it's definitely different to call out the team vs. a specific guy (which Ruff has done, and we'll see whether Rolston does).

GAME DISCUSSION THREAD GDT: Buffalo at Toronto (2/21/2013, 7:00pm)
biodork replied to Corp000085's topic in Archive
I heard that on GR and also thought it odd, but his reasoning was that he wanted a chance to view videotape and hone his message before talking to the guys. One of the reporters (maybe Hamilton?) suggested that the team leaders should be the ones doing the talking after a game, and Rolston sort of agreed. -
Looks like any players who didn't like getting called-out by Ruff are in for a rude awakening.

I don't think the thread was ever unlocked (at least, it wasn't last Friday evening). For me: I might actually get a day off this weekend! If I do it'll likely be spent doing all the stuff at home I've been neglecting for the last two weeks, but I'll take it.

Good stuff, nfreeman and Stormin Normin. I was really happy to read about the press conference earlier today (haven't had time to listen yet). He should hold his head high and know that he's a Sabre for life. I remember when he left his phone charger at the hotel in Raleigh after game 5 of the ECF in 2006, and he told them to hang onto it since they'd be back for game 7 (and they were). Thanks for the memories, Lindy. Best of luck going forward, whatever you choose to do.

HOLY COW. Saw the email from WGR around 4:10 and been trying to catch up on this thread ever since (inbetween work, of course). As many have said, very sad for Lindy to go out like this, but something really had to change with this team. Not exactly thrilled with the idea of Rolston as a replacement, but we'll see what happens. I'd rather swap coaches with Phoenix. Best wishes, Lindy.

Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but there's something funky with the game times listed below the calendar... the times listed ON the calendar appear to be correct, but in the text of the next three games under the calendar with logos the start times are off (5:09pm, 5:10pm, and 5:11pm).

Well since the Friday thread was never unlocked, this goes here: 1) After a rough couple of weeks, my grandfather is finally improving to the point that he should be able to go back home next week. Fingers crossed. 2) Although I had to watch it from work (see Thursday thread), due to the awesomeness that is NHL Gamecenter Live, I was able to watch tonight's game and see a rare Sabres victory!

Shrader, so sorry to hear about your fiancee's father. Prayers to him, and best of luck to you and her with the wedding planning. Taro, I don't work on viruses. :P And I'm sorry to hear about your dog... been there and it's definitely not an easy thing to do. My (now very lame) complaint: too much freakin work the last several weeks has me exhausted. I thought my to-do list was going to get shortened today, but instead there were tasks added. I can't keep doing 10-12 hour days and 6-7 day work weeks like this.

Finally getting left (mostly) alone to do my work. And, my tax refund posted today! :D
