Yes Weber fought, but his counterpart was more than willing and had his gloves off just as fast, so I saw no reason for more than offsetting 5 min. penalties. Thank you.

Speaking for myself, I'm not insinuating it's the refs' fault the Sabres aren't playing well. I just think it's crap that Weber got the extra minor in the fight and Scott was tossed before he could even go at it.

I'm kinda surprised by the low guesses on total points (the tiebreaker question). Not many saying over 50, but I could be overly optimistic about this team's ability to make a late push as in prior years.

Well according to inkman, I'm most like Gerbe. The comparison is certainly apt based on height, but I'd say it also fits because while I may mot be the most talented of the bunch, I work my a$$ off and give 110% effort. Or maybe I'm Pominville... semi-talented, and not necessarily captain material but hard-working and the type to lead-by-example.

I'm enjoying a much-needed vacation in Phoenix visiting my mom and brother. Other than a little rain today and tomorrow, the weather has been sunny and warm. And with the Coyotes in the midst of a homestand, I also get to see 3 hockey games while I'm here (they're season ticket holders)! Fantastic, indeed. Good luck, weave!

Thanks, Braedon! I had a chance to try a new one last night: Tomatin 18 Year Old Single Malt. I liked it a lot. Very sweet on the nose (maple syrup / caramel), decent flavor and nice finish without being too hot. Kind of regretting giving it to my boyfriend, lol.

I can't take credit for the recipe (it's from this book: http://www.amazon.com/Quick-Easy-Thai-Everyday-Recipes/dp/0811837319), but it's basically: 3 T fresh-squeezed lime juice 2-3 T fish sauce 1 T sugar 2 T each chopped scallions and sliced shallots 2 T (or more) chopped cilantro 12 oz tuna, drained your choice of heat (I only used about 1 tsp red curry paste since I'm a spice wimp, but you could use chilis or chili pepper flakes) Add everything to a bowl, stir to combine, and let sit for about 15 min. for the flavors to meld. Good at room temp. or from the fridge, and kind of messy with the amount of liquid so I often just eat by scooping up with crackers rather than having in a sandwich. Delicious.

Thai tuna salad for lunch (tuna with lime juice, fish sauce, scallions, shallots, cilantro, and a little bit of sugar and red curry paste). Just glorious.

Sabres finally win two games in a row again (woohoo!). Grandfather went home from the hospital last Sat. and is still there (home), so hopefully his health continues to improve. And after a very, very long two months, I'm on vacation next week and part of the following week in Phoenix. Suh-weet.

I wish better luck for you! I've been going crazy the last four weeks trying to figure out why my experiments are suddenly not working as they had before, and after testing today I think we know why. We have five or six different cell lines going right now, too. We're pretty sure who the source of contamination is (see prior Complaint Thursday posts re: stinky coworker), but he's beyond help at this point. I just hope after his committee meeting in a few weeks they finally kick his dumb ass out of grad school, but I'm not optimistic.

9am is early for sure when you work until 10pm the night before and live 30 min. away! I'm normally here more like 10:30-7, so getting here at 9am is big departure from the norm. And today it was for nothing, since I JUST received the second sample on which I was waiting. And it should be allowed (re: Liger's shovel idea)... that dude is so bad at his job, it's unbelievable.
