  1. Too comfy. I really gotta flip the cushions so they can even out, lol. Not looking great for FLA and CAR right now... both are down 3-0.
  2. WPG wins, 4-1
  3. Indeed. GoDD would disagree, but in this case "smacked around" was mostly just getting bopped on the head with a hockey stick.
  4. Looks like I've got a date with my couch tonight. Thanks for putting that together!
  5. Sabres score first, Sens tie it to go into the 1st intermission 1-1. Sabres have their typical brain cramp in the 2nd and take a string of penalties (some questionable calls), but kill them off. Third period: Sens go up 2-1, Sabres regroup to tie it at 2-2, and later two quick goals make it 4-2. Goals by Adam, Ott, Flynn, and Hecht. Hecht isn't really even an accent, though... It's more like a crazy lisp that gets me!
  6. I forgot how goofy Hecht's voice sounds.
  7. Not bad; working too much and missing a lot of games due to a combination of time constraints and ambivalence towards this year's team. Hoping the Sabres make it interesting for the game 4/26 since I'll be there. And after watching the entire 4th season of BBT I haven't caught a regular episode since! I always forget to tune in. It is a great show, though.
  8. Thanks; thus far this is the one thing I dislike about GameCenter Live (it's live-ish). Lol
  9. Oh wow my feed is super-delayed... Just saw Pysyk's goal! Edit: Ott's goal
  10. :clapping: (Don't mean to laugh at your pain; just loving your chosen method of grieving.)
  11. LPF... is that you? lol fantastic avatar and handle.
  12. Maybe a resolution to the Coyotes ownership situation before long? http://thehockeywriters.com/phoenix-coyotes-ownership-situation-will-be-resolved-soon/ And a good one about last night's win against the Red Wings with an ill and half-AHL roster: http://www.foxsportsarizona.com/nhl/phoenix-coyotes/story/Coyotes-bucket-brigade-douses-Detroit?blockID=888343&feedID=3702
  13. Nice. Agreed; Crosby is a huge difference-maker, but no one is talking about the fact that we were without Vanek (again). The Pens still had Iginla, Malkin, etc etc and Vokoun had an off night. I saw one of the goals on a highlight later and I don't know what he was doing, lol... some kind of weird gymnastic flip in the crease. Nice to see the Sabres get a win, but this team still needs some major changes. We'll see later today!
  14. I can't believe they just made the Pens (especially Vokoun) look so bad. Had to listen on he radio, but sounded like a fun one. Good for Porter and Hodgson. Why can't they play like that every night??
  15. Unfortunately can't access the WSJ article (not a subscriber), but I hear you. It would take an awful lot to get them (and the city) on solid financial footing, but I hope somehow it works out. The area around the arena is great on game nights (lots of restaurants, bars, shopping, etc) and even if a new city were in better financial shape to host the team, starting over from scratch on the fan base is probably going to have its own negative consequences. They really need to come to a resolution one way or the other soon, though.
  16. :P I know it's easy to pick on the Coyotes and their fan base (I've done it in the past as well), but honestly I was impressed when I was there. I've been to a couple of games over the last three years, and since they were on a homestand when I was out a few weeks ago, I went to three games just recently with my mom, brother, and hs roommate (all season ticket holders). Yes they don't routinely sell out the arena, and yes their tickets are grossly underpriced (out of necessity for now). But the 200 level was nearly full with many season ticket holders, and the 100 level was quite full even for a Tues. night matchup with the Kings. All throughout the arena there were folks with "beat LA" towels and t-shirts from last year's WCF, and the crowd was very much into the game with reactions that demonstrate they are more than casual fans (cheering for a good PK, defensive blocks, etc). There was recently a viewing somewhere in Scottsdale (I think) of a video special with Shane Doan, and tons of people turned out for the event. The franchise has its issues, but I'm no longer convinced they can't be viable in Glendale, and there are an awful lot of fans out there who will be disappointed if/when the team relocates.
  17. This is where I currently fall as well. I'd love for them to suddenly pull their heads out of their collective a$$es and make it interesting, but right now I'm wondering why I bought tix for the last home game this season. Meaningful changes at the trade deadline would go a long ways towards restoring interest, though.
  18. Good luck, man! You're overdue for some luck in that department. My new neighbors are not only not ######, they're having a party with friends tomorrow and have gone out of their way to make sure I know I'm invited (and I plan to stop over for a little bit). Three cheers for normal people. The stupid kid left early (after already being AWOL most of the day) because of a "headache". Incredibly lame, but happy he's not here. My boss left about an hour ago, and I'll be leaving early in another hour to have dinner with a friend. Weather this weekend in the 50s and sunny.
  19. I'm not much of a beer drinker, but I do enjoy sampling new ones from time to time. We went to a local bar with dramatically improved draft options last night, and I had Spring House Brewing Co's Big Gruesome (a chocolate peanut butter stout) and Shock Top Honeycrisp Apple. The stout wasn't too sweet, and the flavor was predominantly chocolate with just a hint of peanut butter on the finish. The Honeycrisp Apple was great, very light and refreshing, and definitely similar to hard cider but with more body. That'd be a nice summer beer (especially for chicks like me who don't really like beer).
  20. Wow... that's just crazy. I don't know how you kept it together that entire time, but sorry you and your family had to go through that ordeal. Hopefully Jason at least has friends back home, since it seems like his parents aren't particularly interested in taking care of him.
  21. Definitely agreed on the price; I bought it anyway mostly because 1) I can't get it locally, and 2) I always feel somewhat obliged to make a purchase after spending time sampling. It's passable mixed, but not good enough to stand alone.
