I took the day mostly off (went in for about 2 hrs in the afternoon) and otherwise just ran errands that have been on hold for a while. I did not do Black Friday shopping. Blech. The local ski resorts opened today, which is several weeks early for this area. And best of all: it's payday!

Lebanese stuffed grape leaves. Absolutely delicious, but I don't think I'll be wanting them again anytime soon after OD-ing a little, lol.

Lol Damn kitten scratched the ###### outta my wrist last night when he got scared by something and ran away. This morning my stepmom scared him by insisting on getting all up in his face and trying to pet him while he was cowering under the table and he scratched my side as I tried to move him out of the room. Sheesh.

I wish I could say I was looking forward to tomorrow and/or this weekend in general, but I kinda feel like taking one of these instead:

Now that I've finally accepted that I can't keep the kitten (for a number of reasons), I can't find anyone to take him. Really hoping something comes through in the next week or so.

I use mine a ton, too; I just think the others can probably do everything I do on the iPad at a fraction of the price. Only reason I have one is it was a gift.

I can't comment on the other brands, but I have an iPad and would definitely recommend something else if she's not already an Apple fanatic. It's nice, for sure, but IMO way too expensive for what it is.

It's been a good weekend of eatin and drinkin: Friday night: varied tapas (lamb, tuna, dates, you name it), some fancy drinks with green tea and Cat Daddy moonshine, and Makers Old Fashioned Sat. night: lamb burgers with taziki sauce, cranberry swirl cheesecake bars, and mulled wine tonight: leftovers (lol)

I don't know if it's listed wrong in our directory or if he keeps giving people the wrong extension, but I'm really getting tired of fielding calls for my boss on our lab phone. A lot of the time I have gloves on if I'm working on an experiment, and sometimes the steps are time-sensitive. And apart from the general annoyance of it, because he's an MD/PhD who sees patients, the calls are often either patients looking for him or other doctors calling to discuss their cases, so I end up hearing information I really shouldn't. There are times when he'll step out for a few minutes and ask me to take a message if his office phone rings, too. WTF, I'm not the damn secretary! Maybe if he'd set up his freaking voicemail so he could get messages like a normal person and not have the phone ring endlessly he wouldn't have to ask. (And seriously; what kind of an ###### calls someone and lets the phone ring 15-20 times before hanging up? If you haven't gotten voicemail by the 5th or 6th ring, it ain't happening.)

That's pretty fantastic.

Found out yesterday that my out-of-pocket portion of the upcoming dental implant and crown will be about $2400. Ouch.

I don't think it's so much the parents as the toy marketing and advertising folks I'd rail against. I took the ad as more of a dig against the toy companies for largely promoting pink and "girl-appropriate" things and not making some of these other things available. And again; I don't mean to suggest it's a bad thing that many little girls like Disney princesses and Barbies... I just dislike that they're often the only options presented as gender appropriate.
