All of this pretty well sums up where I am on the Sabres right now. I don't want them to be irrelevant for 5 years while waiting for draft picks to eventually become a full team of NHL ready players.

I can't believe I just read through 14 pages of this thread and there's still no official word on wtf happened yesterday. Like others have said, I could be okay with PLF leaving after a short stint ("my work here is done" kinda thing), but the timing and the way it came out through leaks and unofficial channels is highly suspect. Whether that's on PLF or someone else we still don't know, but I agree with 11: this is ######! Embarrassing all around for the organization.

The thread has been locked most Fridays. :P I think the Awesome thread has been filling the void, though. Having a day off to get some little house projects done is pretty nice, even if I was off sick.

I'm with wjag and Eleven on this trade, although the conditional pick helps some. We just made a hole at the one position that was set and traded the first "real" captain since July 2007. I don't like the stockpiling of yet more picks since it means a much longer rebuild, but not surprising that a team in the playoff mix wasn't looking to unload quality players. As nfreeman said, I'll be interested to see how Halak and Enroth end up dividing the workload.

I just saw an episode of that for the first time last weekend, and I concur. Matthew McConaughey has found his calling.

I thought I was going to get through this winter without catching something, but my boss is currently sick (as is often the case, between the patients he sees and his three young disease vector children). Boo.

I've done that twice (same eye), and ouch indeed... it's like having sand under your eyelid. Hope it heals quickly for you. I finally have a chance to go snowboarding again tomorrow and I may not be able to go since I'm sick. :(

But if they were out and awake until 6:30am partying, it wasn't two nights; it was one.

So dumb. I've always been able to stream audio through WGR even when the Sabres are playing on NBCSN, so I don't understand why this would be any different. A video blackout I can understand, but audio? <sigh>

That was definitely the case last night. I tuned in somewhere around 9:30 or 10pm and it was the ice dancing in its entirety with a tiny bit of ski jumping inbetween. Crazy that they don't even show highlights from the hockey games (or any other competitions held that day).

This and $8/month for Hulu Plus cover about 95% of my TV watching needs. Except now that GCL no longer includes the playoffs, I'm out of (legal) options to watch hockey in April / May. (Not that it's been a problem the last few years as a Sabres fan...)
