Lol I was kinda thinking he was full of it, but I let him have his dignity. ;) Thanks again! And yes, this stuff is more like pepperoni (dried and cured).

I think someone did post that before (Nova Scotia?), because when Arc asked what song the other guys played I kept hearing Thunderstruck, lol. They are also awesome.

:) Never would have tried it if it hadn't been for your recommendation (it was THAT cheap). My friend at work said he liked it but it gave him hangovers... something about tannins, which I thought were just in red wine?

I tried to like Makers for a while before I finally accepted that I don't.

Lol one of my faves... the alliteration adds to the already amusing description. Thanks! I've never had it (and was under the mistaken impression he'd made it) before, so I kind of wish I'd looked into recipes beforehand. Sounds like he might need a special pan as well. It's odd to me that most recipes have seafood or chicken, but this paella set came with chorizo. I guess it's choose-your-own adventure as long as the base flavors and spices are the same. W.L. Weller bourbon tonight. Another gem at a ridiculously low price point.

I just watched two guys on America's Got Talent play Jimi Hendrix on cellos. Amazing.

Well done.

Eleven is the one who first set it up, so no passes for him on that one. Only reason I didn't find it amusing is I never considered that phrasing to be a double entendre, but perhaps it's my science background and it was obvious to others. Anyhow. Today's a new day.

I really don't get (and I don't care to have explained) why a paella recipe question necessitated a baby batter joke, but whatever.
-
? I specifically avoided any mention of sausage... am I being blond?
-
Lol well yeah, but which one? The main source of variation among recipes seems to be the protein component. Too many options!

Got a good paella recipe? The bf loves it but hasn't tried making it himself yet. I'd gotten him a paella set with the rice, paprika, and chorizo, but there are so many recipe variations that it's hard to know where to start. And cachaca (Brazillian cane rum) is definitely very different from Caribbean rum... too rough to drink alone, but lime and sugar tames it nicely. Leblon and Avua are good brands.

I'll second that. Bought a bottle of the 12 year tonight, and where has this been all my life? Crazy good for this price point.

Enjoy and see you in a month, NS! David Thorne is awesome (and probably not right in the head): http://www.27bslash6.com/overdue.html http://www.27bslash6.com/function4sports.html http://www.27bslash6.com/missy.html

Freaking A. Went to an ENT doctor this afternoon since the damn salivary gland stone was visibly stuck, and after all but openly mocking me for making the appointment ("drink water and eat sour candy; it'll pass"), he did end up needing to make a small incision to remove it. Except clearly he didn't get all of it, because the duct is still blocked! And the spray lidocaine made the floor of my mouth molt (yuck). I don't feel like going back to have him talk down to me again, but I really don't want to end up with an infection. :(

:clapping: And good on you, Jo! I've managed to stick with my new morning (except on the weekend) workout routine for 19 consecutive days now. Although I haven't seen any major changes yet on the outside, I do feel stronger and my goal for now is to make this a permanent habit and step up the intensity as I go, so I'm happy about that.

That's awesome!

Oof weave, that's a mess. I hope your grandmother heals up enough to go home and someone talks some sense into her kids. I'll echo this. At 34 I'm down to only one, and we don't have much of a relationship because she's lived half a country away most of my life. My complaint: salivary duct stones suck.

Off topic Sometimes I break more than a sweat...

 I'd actually never watched it before... was gonna look for something on Hulu but that was on and mildly entertaining, so I left it. I was surprised the announcer called the Achilles injury by sound, though (he said it before the contestant grabbed his ankle). -

Ahh, I heard that last night watching American Ninja Warrior... ick. -
Wow -- those two words really made a difference, lol. Congrats, man! Should make that an easier sell to the Mrs.

Bulleit is good, and Eagle Rare is a nice bourbon at a reasonable price. Monkey Shoulder is a pretty decent scotch for the price (it's a Speyside blend), but as MattPie alluded, there are huge differences in style and flavor of scotch so it's harder to find a one-size-fits-all.

You need one of these: wooden toast tongs

Very nice. I'm bummed that something changed with Caskers and they no longer ship ANYTHING to Pennsylvania.
