GDT/ Buffalo Sabres @ Flyers, 7:30pm TNT WGR

One day I was in NYC waiting for a train and I went inside the lobby of the building next door to check my phone. Turned out that was NHL headquarters. I thought about stopping in to say hi to Gary but I didn't want security to taze me. Or what a kicking motion is. -

My point is the rules are the rules. Until they eliminate the OTL point, those still matter. And maybe some of you are just young whippersnappers and don't remember when NHL games ended in ties. Each team got a point. So don't look at it as a loss. Look at it as a tie with a bonus point awarded to the OT winner. Because essentially that's what it is. -
Three headed goalie monster coming to an end?

You don't know why, tho. Is he the #1 goalie now or was he being showcased for scouts? -

How do you know they aren't shopping him? Other teams scouts attend Sabres games regularly. And you are calling the 3- goalie thing a repeated mistake. Are you saying claiming Ellis off waivers was a mistake? -

I don't. Nothing suggests any conclusion to that effect. -

Do you believe Levi is the best goalie in the Sabres system? Why? Also describe the "requisite roster moves" that would prevent the Sabres from losing assets? -
I'm trying to understand where the expected goals stat comes from, like who exactly decides what expected is? I was told that it's based on where shots come from and how often those shots score or are saved based on all goals from that spot. But apparently the stat does not take into account how that shot is generated. For example a shot from spot X is counted the same for a shooter who skates in and fires at the goalie who sees it cleanly, as a bang-bang crosser that requires a goalie to move across the crease quickly to make the save. There is no way on God's green earth those rate the same in difficulty.

How did UPL look so good yesterday? Maybe it's because the rest of the Sabres didn't give the Jets any room to operate? Only one breakaway allowed. No stupid turnovers. You don't need your goalie to stand on his head if the rest of the team is doing their job. Last night was a classic example. -
Has your feelings about the Cozens/Norris trade change after last night?
-
You assume a GM can just trade for anyone he wants, when he wants, and offer whatever. It's pretty clear Utah wanted JJP, enough to package Doan with Kesselring. What would you have offered the Mammoth for Doan straight up? And why would Utah take that deal?

That was one of the best defensive games the Sabres played all year. Every time the Jets had a rush, one or more Sabre got back and diffused the situation. And when the Jets got a shot off UPL saw it clean and only had to make one save. Only one breakaway and UPL stopped it. Someone is getting traded from the goalie room. Unlikely it will be Ellis because of waiver rules. (Sabres have to offer Ellis to any team that made a waiver claim for him plus the Blues.) So one of UPL or Lyon is being shopped. We know scouts and GMs have been at Sabres games.
