I thought it was an amazing performance by the Sabres, who were clearly outclassed by Utah. Yet they frustrated the Mammoth all night and even answered with their own goal when they fell behind. When you say "control over rebounds" are you referring to every time he kicks a rebound to the side? Not every shot sticks to a goalie. Sometimes the best thing you can do is kick it with your pad towards your defenseman. However the rebound of his pad on goal #1 did go directly to a Caps player.

What gave me the idea for this thread was the question how is goal scoring this year in light of losing JJ Peterka and no Josh Norris. From there I compared the other stats. The Goals Against numbers are odd being up slightly, but the biggest change is special teams. PP and PK are massively improved.

Did you see why they were "passive?" Dahlin and Thompson were caught out there for minutes. In fact Tage got felled by a blocked shot and gutted it out because he couldn't get to the bench. It was 3-on-2 for a while the Caps were able to change the times!!!
