  1. The Buffalo News is trying to make an issue of that being some kind of revelation even though it was expressly stated at the time of the Ryan hiring.
  2. Except the Bills are not a tire fire. That is a narrative the Buffalo News is stoking. Go over to Two Bills Drive and read the thread on the SUlly article and press conference. In a nutshell, Pegula spoke privately with Rex Ryan and both agreed to move on. Whaley was notified afterwards. Rex answered to Pegula, not Whaley. Pegula then put choice of next coach in Whaley's hands. Pretty cut-and-dry, no? Then you read the Buffalo News and they are just besides themselves because Whaley gave these exact answers in his press conference. They all but called him a liar. But within an hour John Wawrow publishes an interview with Pegula that verifies everything Whaley said. The Pegulas already admitted they made a mistake on Rex and want Whaley to take full responsibility on the next coaching hire, something he did not have until now. Now you can call that a tire fire if you are a drama queen. You can call Pegula meddling for disregarding his GM's opinion on Rex. (He was against him but went along withPegulas and Brandon.) But the Buffalo News is showing itself to be a petty, vindictive bunch out to show the Pegulas that they need to kowtow to their whims if they know what's good for them.
  3. He overplays the puck. Mostly not an issue but he often takes himself out of position. That is bad form.
  4. If I'm Terry I sell both teams and leave town. Who needs this aggravation? OM-frickin-G. Please construct one of those push-pin-and-yarn charts showing how Russ is the reason this team can't win. I'm dying to see that explained.
  5. Franson has the puck go right by him. Made no attempt to control and clear. I guess he his job is to guard that little square of ice he was parked on.
  6. Bad news: Living in NH, my NHL.tv will black out the MSG feed. Good news: I can use my DVR to sync up the WGR radio feed to the NESN video.
  7. That ESPN reporter Jim Trotter also reported that this Sunday's game was a "one game audition" for the job when the Bills said no such thing.
  8. Ever notice when we are in the Red Wings end three skaters converge on the puck holder. But when it's in our end the Sabres assume the box and let Detroit skate free along the perimeter.
  9. Right but it wasn't a blow to the head hard enough to knock him out. He let a puck dribble in off his stick. Didn't attempt to move.
  10. He got nicked but he didn't get knocked out. He's lucky he sold it hard enough to get a whistle.
  11. This team is helpless. Can't clear the zone, can't handle the puck, can't help but end up chasing the play.
  12. I keep getting crap for saying this, but I stand by it: Lehner overplays the puck. He was faked out his jock on that breakaway.
  13. Have you ever considered an asphalt rink with a 2 inch curb all around? No need for a tarp liner. Just fill with water. (You do leave a drain hole in the corner that you plug.)
  14. Every game the Bills needed (had they won) went their way this weekend. They would have needed to beat the Jets, have New England beat the Dolphins and the Raiders beat the Broncos to have gotten in week 17.
  15. Tough weekend for Buffalo fans between the Sabres and Bills. Will Pegs have to fire two coaches?
  16. I'll admit I'm no expert on breaking down hockey film. But I know what I see, guys getting beat to the puck in their end because they are stationary and have no momentum. If that's a strategy it doesn't look effective.
