  2. Another way to look at it is the Sabres have to be 6 points better than Toronto and the Islanders. Not as daunting.
  3. Just curious, what was the actual attendance for the Amerks game at KBC? http://theahl.com/game-summary?game_id=1016679 The AHL reports attendance as 16,855 but that must be tickets distributed. Every news story I've read does not give an attendance figure. Was anyone there?

  5. No. He read the Secret. Anything you believe in enough becomes the truth.

  7. Laffs and Isles lose. Panthers win. Hawks lose to the Oil.
  8. Was just listening to Sal Capaccio on WGR give all the reasons for trading Kaner. (Him being in his final year of contract next season is a consideration.) But you make the point that no one addresses: GMTM traded for Kane to do what he is doing right now. He didn't trade the farm for for just he could flip him for a defenseman down the road. You also have to consider what the loss of Kane does to the rest of the team. You aren't just giving up a 30-goal scorer (that you can't immediately replace.) You are also giving up a play maker so that's even more goals lost. So bravo, you improved the defense. They will have to stand on their heads because you weakened your offense considerably.
  9. If there is such a dearth of good defense, why would anyone trade away that magical, can't-miss young defenseman everyone seems to think Kane could get us?
  10. You also have to replace what you traded away. Besides we are not one player away. Let the kids show us what they can do.
  11. Gift goal for the Oil. I'm hoping the Hawks get gassed tonight.
  12. I've been a harsh Lehner critic and I have to say he's been solid of late. I like my crow batter-dipped.
  13. You always trade away your best players. How else are you supposed to improve as a team? #waitingforgodot #bringbackthegoat We need 35 points in 24 games.
  14. That will be the narrative when they bring Bylsma back.
  15. As much as I hate dumb penalties, I was glad to see the Sabres stand up for Lehner there. We've said he'd like to see how we'd react to a real Lucic-style hit on our goalie. I don't think we'll see one because we don't let lesser hits, like that one, go unanswered.
  16. The worst thing you can do is allow the opponent to get settled in your end. You have to buzz them. Now it is definitely more tiring to play like that but you are more likely to generate a turnover than just hanging back waiting for them to make a mistake.
  17. Don't you love reporters who answer their own questions?
  18. The Sabres PK looks the "4 traffic cone" approach. Create obstacles in tight and leave the perimeter open. I suppose there is some logic to it. Opponents passing along the perimeter kills time just as well as clearing the puck. But where it breaks down is being so lousy at getting control when the puck is loose. They are helpless clearing the zone or just controlling the puck in their end. Other teams smother us while we allow them to operate in space.
