  1. JBot a little shaky speaking in public.
  2. I'm happy to see JBot not just pipeline Penguins to Buffalo....unless it's Sid or Malkin, of course.
  3. I am in favor of moving on from Lehner. Not sure Fluery is the final answer.
  4. Yes that's bad. But you have a law firm (two actually) that are playing the long game in a settlement when their clients don't know how much longer they are going to live. So you have law firms acting in their own interest, completely ignoring the needs of their elderly clients. That's not evil?
  5. But you know what? Jimmy has a point with Irene. She's clueless about the lawsuit and willing to follow the lawyer's lead without question while her friends are being denied a million in settlement money. These are people who could be dead by the time the lawyers settle and all they get is a few thousand more for waiting. If anyone is evil it's the law firms. Sure Jimmy's being a conniving dick, and has his self-interest at heart, but he isn't wrong.
  6. Either way, it seems a given that since we haven't hired anyone yet, our future coach is from one of these two remaining teams.
  7. So get a D and lose our top scorer. You're just trading one problem for another.
  8. Except basketball. That's good. How about moving the dormant ECHL Elmira Jackels there?
  9. BCS is set in 2003. The proof is on this check.
  10. It was around June 21 last year, but this year you have the Olympics and Vegas to deal with. Trying to plan my Bills/Sabres/maybe UB weekends.
  11. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nashville_metropolitan_area Nashville metro pop. 1.8MM. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffalo%E2%80%93Niagara_Falls_metropolitan_area Buffalo metro pop. 1.13MM
  12. Got to see Jean Michel Jarre a few weeks ago. Only his second US show ever, and his first one since 1986. Only about 1,500 came out to see him in Boston. This for a guy who holds the Guinness record for largest concert crowd for a single performer, over 1 million. Also saw Midnight Oil (great) and will see KMFDM in October in a small club.
  13. Quick question. Are we hiring a coach before or after we get rid of our top scorer?
  14. Jerry Sullivan's column will demand to know why it didn't happen sooner. Nashville fans don't carry the emotional baggage we do. We'll never let go of the woe-is-us mentality.
  15. Our Russian players remember Buffalo fondly. https://twitter.com/SlavaMalamud/status/739172599935172608
  16. It's a bad idea...until the Sabres get jobbed by a call.
  17. Not lame at all. That puck was on its side when it was shot, causing it to flutter and curve downward. I'm sure to Anderson it looked like it was going over the crossbar.
  18. Whoever wins, the NHL would love Nashville to win it all. Another non-traditional market digging hockey.
  19. A shooter using his screen. Not much Anderson could do.
  20. When Elmira folded I really expected the Pegulas to pick up the ECHL franchise and put them somewhere in the area. Maybe even in Harborcenter. Do you think a thousand fans would show for ECHL hockey in Buffalo? On a side note, my Manchester Monarchs lost Game 7 at home to South Carolina yesterday, missing a chance to play in the Kelly Cup finals. :(
  21. Feh! Who needs one-person, one-vote? Democracy should be meted out by land mass, not population.
  22. I thought that's what we settled on too.
  23. I'm fine with WC being in NYC, even if it meant losing a home game. Playing in a baseball stadium is a waste of time. If the Sabres played at Coca Cola Field I wouldn't go. All stadium games should be in football stadiums.
