That's the easy take to have. Look at the past and assume it continues into the future. (Look at any preseason predictions and they look remarkably like last year's standings.) Goaltending is the big question, obviously. But I don't think Granato and the Sabres will be hanging their heads and running for the bus.

True but he's not value-less. I think Jack went to Montreal for the Bio-Steel camp to show what kind of shape he's in right now. I'll bet there will be some private skates to demonstrate that as well. I do agree if something doesn't get done by the start of training camp then we are back at square one.
