  1. It feels like NJD are playing "man-to-man" defense.
  2. Wasn't this supposed to be a "home & home" series? Why are we wearing road whites twice?
  3. The Sabres should NEVER pull the goalie. EVER
  4. Cozens still playing like bad Cozens.
  5. Cozens all alone puts it right into the crest of the goalie.
  6. Muel with the pass but who flubbed it? Was it Zucker or McLeod?
  7. Did they actually cut to ads during the anthems?
  8. It would be nice if they at least gave ESPN+ replays of NHLN games.
  9. They've had plenty of time to rest up.
  10. I'm going to have to miss Saturday's game. I just got asked to sub for the play-by-play guy for the NH Mountain Kings of the NAHL. Their NA3 team plays at 1pm Saturday. I need to be at the rink by 11:30am.
  11. I have no idea. Basically there is no result in preseason that will make everyone happy. Lose = bad, barely win = bad, win every game 6-0 = bad.
  12. I don't know what the deal is with the Sabres and WGR. I know that the noon-3pm block is produced by PSE. But in most situations, the right to broadcast a game on radio is paid for by the radio company.
  13. Just so you know, the company that owns WGR, Audacy, is in bankruptcy. I can't see them paying a nickel more. But if you are paying Hammy and Koziel to be there anyway, let them call the game.
  14. Stat sheet. https://www.nhl.com/gamecenter/buf-vs-det/2024/09/30/2024010063
  15. Hamilton is at all the games anyway, or just home games? Even if he did the just home games live, it would be an improvement. Ray just doesn't think about the radio audience.
  16. Someone keeps forgetting to turn the sound back up after breaks.
  17. If I ran WGR I'd insist we have a separate radio crew calling games. What's the point of having games on radio when all you hear are Rob Ray's long stories?
  18. 7. Konsta Helenius (C/RW/LW), Buffalo Sabres, Draft: 2024-R1:14 I wish I was surprised that Helenius fell in the ‘24 Draft… but, I’m not. Of course, the average-sized, European center got overlooked for hefty defenders. But man, Helenius can play. He’s as quick as they come and turns on a dime, pairing with seriously elite IQ and awareness to make Helenius effective in any spot. He can drive offense, he can finish scoring chances, he can get in opponents’ face on defense, and he can play special teams. Better than all of that, Helenius passionately wants to be an NHL star… the best Finn ever, to be exact. That’s the motivation I want my prospects to have. We know Helenius will stick around North America this season, but I’ll go as far as predicting he works into an NHL role before the year ends, taking the first step towards becoming the desperately needed glue-guy in Buffalo’s top-six
