Not gonna lie, thought entered my mind too. They hadn't scored on the replacement goalie yet. That goal #5 was a major flub by the Hawks goalie.

If everyone on this team played with the energy and intensity Benson does, we'd be dangerous.

It helps to play trash teams. Not to be negative after a win but this team still shows signs of not being in sync. It didn't hurt them much tonight because Chicago isn't going to make you pay. Did anyone catch that moment in the 3rd where the puck is floating to the blue line and Dahlin was going to play it but laid off thinking the other Sabre (name escapes me) was going to take it. Trouble was the other guy thought Dahlin was going to play it, and the Chicago guy takes it, and it could have been trouble if that guy was going full speed. That's the stupid stuff they still do. They aren't on the same page with their linemates.

They did seen to let up in the second. They have to break the new goalie jinx.

True. The Sabres made some bad plays on defense that a better team would have taken advantage of.

That's called an aircheck session for broadcasters. You have to listen to what you sound like to make improvements. It can be a painful experience.

I'm coming to Buffalo for a triple header weekend. Sabres Friday, Bandits Saturday and Bills Sunday.

Do you remember Potts Furniture on Sycamore? I was friends with a kid from that family. They owned a cottage right on the Lake by Crystal Beach. In our teens we used to rent the ice at the old Fort Erie Arena. The old wooden barn. We'd play hockey at midnight or 1 am, then go to his cottage and get roaring drunk. Good times.

I did some math. They need to play .700 hockey over the last 48 games to reach 95 points. They dug themselves a deep hole.

I like to slum with a Utica Club or Genny Cream Ale. But if I'm only having one it's a nice Belgian. La'Choffe, Duvel or Leffe. Going to MTL I plan on getting some Unibroue varieties that aren't imported to the US. I used to ride my bike to Crystal Beach from the east side. Crossing the border in those days was like going to the corner store. No big deal.

I'll add it to the list. How about Coffee Crisps or Aero bars?
