Yeah, he goes hard.

We used to have some of those! They were our tailgating music for a long time. My favorite was "You've Lost That Winning Feeling". Haven't seen them in years. Buffalo this evening: Bonus picture of my dog in the way:

God, its way to loud in this arena sometimes, they really should put some sound dampeners in or something.
-
Currently my workout plan is "have puppy". Doing a solid 1-2 hours of walks with him a day essentially. Its working splendidly.

I'm planning on checking a second bag that just has packing material to bring beer back in. Actually, what's the rules on that? I probably won't get that threw customs, will I... Edit: Its fine through customs, worst comes to worse I have to pay a .08/liter tarriff
-
That was the second thing... Cool, I'll plan on it. I'm gonna be there for 10 days or something if I go, so I assume at least one of those days I won't be working, haha
-
Oh man, lucky dog. Thats on my list for sure. Just found out theres about a 80% chance that I'm going to go to Amsterdam in the fall for work, my first trip off the continent, and my first thought was about the new types of beer I'm going to get to try.

At one point I was really hoping the Sabres would get the first overall pick, Arizona would get #2, we could swap picks with them for OEL, and I wasn't sure if we'd do it, which should tell you what I think that pick is worth. No way 7,20, Domi AND Dvorak get it done.
-
I mean, not really good teams, but if those teams are drafting near the top they're probably not that good. Girgensons is young, a 1st round draft pick, and can play NOW. That's fairly easy to sell to the fanbase for teams like Vancouver who are under pressure to get back in the playoffs now. Still, your point is taken and I might be over valuing him, but in my defense he's the exact type of player that teams like to over value.

For 3, no, probably not, but for 4 or 5 I need it, otherwise its not worth it. I'm not going to move up only 3 spots AND give up a guy who is a second line center on some teams right now to get someone who probably won't play this year. Take a look at my second post and it gives a little more info on what I'm thinking. I probably don't move to 5 at all if the three top wingers are all gone, anyways. If there hasn't been a D-man who's gone in the top 4 I'll just wait til 8 and get one of Nylander, Joulevi, Sergachev, or Chykryn (please excuse all of those spellings). I don't think Nylander is worth moving up to 5 for, and I don't know if any of those D-men are that much better than the rest to make me pay to get them. That's obviously up to Murray and the scouts, though. For a D-prospect coming back in the case of 4/5 I need someone of the Ghule-from-last-year vein probably. Guy who has top-4 upside, but is 2ish years out. Preferably a LHD.

I just saw that this convo was happening in the Draft thread, too. Yeah, I agree with both cases I think. I would probably go as much as Gus+8+69 for 3, and probably Gus+8 for 4/5+D prospect.
-
Would you guys move Zemgus to land 3,4, or 5? I think I would. I think I need more in return for Z+8 than those picks, but if I can do Z+8 for 3+nice D prospect I'd love that. I love me some Latvian Locomotive, but I just don't see his spot on this team, really. I'd rather have Pulololvuailraraivlaiai or Tkachuck on the Eichel/Reinhart wing, and Larsson has 3C locked down for me for now.

Even in Elmwood area that's possible, but you'll have to be patient for an opportunity and then act quickly when it pops up. Its more that there's not a lot of offstreet parking, and pets limit you, too, though cats less than dogs. For greenspace Parkside and Elmwood are the best, and both are good neighborhoods, but it is the city. I won't sugar-coat it, break-ins and muggings are a possibility. There was a girl who had a guy try to grab her purse right outside my door. The upside of that area is that by the time I could get downstairs and out side there were already about 6 people by her side. Still, its always a concern. I'd take a look at Williamsville, too. I have no clue what apartments are available or how much they'd cost there, but if you can get something right on or near Main Street there's Glen Iris park right there.

If you're looking at the city and 2 family homes, check out Zillow, they have an apartment section. As a landlord of one of those places there was a lot of responses from people, so I assume a lot of owners would put their stuff up there. Here's a shot of 2 br. apartments for under 1000: http://www.zillow.com/homes/for_rent/Buffalo-NY/condo,apartment_duplex_type/17222_rid/2-_beds/0-280491_price/0-1000_mp/any_days/42.954537,-78.803301,42.88175,-78.95299_rect/12_zm/ I can tell you that 1000 for a two bedroom is very reasonable, even in the "nicer" area's of the city. Mine is in Elmwood, a 3 br., and we list at 1200. I have some friends who just rented a 2 bedroom place a little further west of us (between Richmond and Grant) for 800 I think? Me and the wife would love if you guys lived right next door, but I'd say check out North Buffalo (near Hertel) and the Larkin area, too. Lots of 2 family homes, and the prices are reasonable. Commute from our area to Williamsville would probably be about 20, depending on the day, time, and place in Williamsville. I can tell you that I love living in the city, and I can give my speil, but long story short its a ton of fun. That all said, off street parking will be a hangup in those locations. Here's that same search from before narrowed to pets ok, on-site parking: http://www.zillow.com/homes/for_rent/Buffalo-NY/condo,apartment_duplex_type/17222_rid/2-_beds/0-280491_price/0-1000_mp/any_days/1_pets/1_parking/42.926106,-78.855529,42.889706,-78.930373_rect/13_zm/ Two nice spots, but a lot fewer options. Anyways, hit me with any more specific questions you might have.

From what I can tell, Bogo does not have a NMC as of now, it won't kick in until '17-'18.
-
I think you just like Bogo more than most of us do.
-
I think its Bogo and #8 for barrie. Maybe Bogo, Zemgus, #8 for Barrie & #10? Thats a pipe dream, but I'd love it.

Islanders make a lot of sense. He could step in and be the 1a/1b line center. That team is skilled, they have cap room, and they're ready to be a big time team IMO.
-
I think he'd be nuts to go to the Rangers at this point. That's a team on the way down. Sure, he'd boost them up, but I don't see them as a legit contender in the next 3-5 years even with him. He needs a team thats just out of reach of the cup, or just starting an upswing. Honestly, TB is probably his best bet, but it sure seems like he's out of there.

Yeah, same. I'm still trying everyonce in a while; I remember with the Paul McCartney tickets people who kept trying eventually had some open back up, so I'm deluding myself. I did get round 2 tickets; figure the draft won't be near me that often, I might as well check it out. Day 2's are free-ish (2 dollar surcharge). EDIT: Just got the official "Sold Out" from the site. Boooo.

Is it earlier this year, or are the Canalside concerts later? Last year it was the first week of Thursday at the Harbor and I saw Connor McDavid watching Matt and Kim, haha.
