  1. Twitter? Back in my day all we had were birds!
  2. Been gone the last week or so, thank you all for making good on this thread. Also, for posterity, I almost made this a "under 35" but I didn't. So there. Enjoy Gen Xers, you get to be young again for a while.
  3. I tossed em some bucks on their kickstarter and got a "Top shelf where mamma hides the cookies" Tshirt for my troubles. Then I saw it at the North Park Theater when it came through. Funny and a lot of Buffalo references and polish jokes. Not an amazing film, but definitely worth an hour and a half of your time if you are a Buffalo-phile.
  4. yeah, and I like them better than shandys
  5. If you remember President Nixon mostly as a Futurama character, Apollo 13 (the Tom Hanks movie) and cheered for the Sabres in the Cup finals (their second go round, or maybe just that time we made the playoffs in 2010), this is your thread. Otherwise, get lost old man!
  6. Today, in the Czech Olympic Village: https://www.instagram.com/p/BItbXnsBFgB/
  7. That Ozzfest was awesome. Disturbed was great, but System was the best for me. Plus you got to see a bunch of metalheads swear at Avenged Sevenfold, which was great.
  8. Arkells are playing back to back this fall in the B-lo. I've never paid for their shows before because they play the harbor about every other year, I'll probably go to at least one of them this time around. Fun band.

  10. yeesh, that stuff from december sounds bad: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/woman-sues-sabres-evander-kane-claiming-he-injured-her/article31227641/ I am fully on the "get Kane gone" bandwagon.
  11. I really, really like WGR. I feel very alone in that sentiment on this board, but I stand by it. I also understand people who dislike some of their guys, but I think they are much higher quality than most other local hosts, and many national hosts, I've experienced in my 20ish years of listening to sports talk stations. Sports talk can be bland and repetitive. Maybe its just that I've become jaded at the same rate and at the same time as the hosts.
  12. Yeah, I'm pretty sad about the disaster thats about to happen. I love the olympics, for all its overwrought pomp and fanfare. Its great. Its a quadrennial (I may have made up that word?) tradition of mine to watch it when I'm up in the Adirondacks in the summer with my family. When everyone goes to bed I stay up late and watch the re-shows of like fencing and weird track sports. Love it.
  13. Those are maybe my favorite thing about Bulldog.
  14. This thread/these olympics in like a week:
  15. Saranac's Cold Brew Coffee Lager is really refreshing, I'm digging it this hot summer.
  16. I like GM, but we'll know a lot more about him in about 2018. He wasn't gifted Jack, Sam maybe, but he had to work to get last place in 2015. The Kane trade looks bad now, but I don't think he could have predicted the crap from this last year, I don't believe he had ever had legal issues before the trade, just team and social media issues. What I need to see is him finish. He's got good pieces in place. The [frantically searches thesaurus.com for a synonym of core...] nucleas of this team is there. Now he has to grow the talent, and fill in the roster with the complementary pieces that will put it over the top. I believe in him, but the real job started this offseason. LFG GMTM.
  17. Same reason as those other two; you don't want people afraid to come forward in any crime, especially one that is as high profile as one involving a pro athlete.
  18. If Obama "tounge-in-cheek" told ISIS to hack the RNC Fox News would burn to the ground. And rightfully, because that's an insane thing to say.

  20. Whats going to be on at 7? Because I'm more likely to be listening from 7-9 than 12-3. WGR was basically a deadzone to me from 7-9 because of Murph.
  21. I am being honest, I don't read their stuff outside of some circumstances. Both Bucky and Sully are good writers, so when they write about stuff outside of Bills and Sabres I can handle it. Jerry's writing on the Tragically Hip or his editorial when Jim Kelley passed, Bucky (I think it was him) wrote a good article about Ali. But when they write about the Bills or Sabres they come across like a combination of old men and petulant children. I don't care about negativity when negativity is warranted. I can handle Schopp being bitter on WGR or people being upset on here about the teams being dumb and bad because they're based in reality. Bucky, Sully, and Harrington mostly come across as just being mean. They're not furthering a conversation or telling a story half the time; they're just taking whatever potshots they can. To your bolded, that is exactly why I don't read their stuff. They make me angry, and being angry isn't very fun to me.
  22. Not only do I not read their articles, I've actually actively blocked both of them on twitter, along with Harrington. Vogl and Dunne were the only ones worth reading from TBN, and now Dunne is gone.
  23. When he was in there he was good to very good, in my opinion. Just can't have him missing 40+ games again.
