Burt Kreischer: The Machine. Wait until you have 15 minutes, sit down, and watch this thing. Its amazing:

Man, I used to watch a TON of stand-up. Pretty much every Friday night Comedy Central played standup for about 8 hours straight, and hanging out with friends we'd put that on and not change the channel. We might be doing other stuff at the same time, but there was always standup on in the background. I haven't been as into it the last 10 years or so, but I do still love it. I've gotta get to Helium some more. Netflix makes it so easy to watch standup, but I have to, like, think about it, and choose one. The last stand up I sat down and watched was John Mulaney. He's the guy who wrote all the Stefon stuff on SNL. If you like story-based stand up give him a shot.

I LOVED those pads. Were they legit '70s pads or replicas?

My rapid attempt to tier our players based on how willing to trade them I am (currently rostered players only): Tier One (AHHHHHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA): Jack Eichel Tier Two (Don't bother calling): Ristolainen, O'Rielly Tier Three (Sure, I'll listen, is McDavid available?): Ryanhart, Okposo Tier Four (Maybe, but it'll cost you): McCabe, Kulikov, Kane, Larsson, Tier Five (Make me an offer): Carrier, Ennis, Foligno, Bogosian Tier Six (I assume this is part of another deal): Gionta, Moulson, Delauriers, Grant, Nilsson, Girgensons, Franson Tier Seven (So is it a bag of like, NEW pucks or...): Gorges I might have missed some. And I didn't do prospects (I tried, but I just don't know their value enough). I think anyone from Tier 4 up either are or could be part of the core (Kane's legal issues withstanding, of course). From there down, all those pieces can move and I won't lose any sleep over it. I think, just from looking at that, that its clearly our defence that needs the biggest upgrading. I struggled putting Bogo up as high as I did, though he did a good job last season when he was active.

I curled at Riverworks last night at 8, so afterwards I got some wings and watched D4rk skate a few shifts. Gotta say, made it feel much more attainable for me :P . I'd like to play someday, but its a fairly hefty investment. I should pick up some skates and see if I can still stand up on them this year; maybe next year I can consider it...

But its really Mike Ramsey and that's it, right? Who's second best? Housley? I took a look through all time Sabres D-men for this very discussion on twitter this morning, and I didn't come up with much. My dad will tell you about Schoenfeld and Korab, but there's not a lot of names in the discussion for "All-Time Best Sabres Defenseman".

I'm pretty sure Ray's head obstructs that many now.

Lehner vs. Nilsson - Looking Forward to Free Agency
sabills replied to darksabre's topic in The Aud Club
The concern with Nilsson is whether he can keep up those type of stats with a full workload, something he's never done. Of course, there is the same concern of Lehner... Honestly, Nilsson means almost nothing to me. How many goalies have we seen come through the Sabres over the last 5 years and perform adequately? I really believe there are 3 tiers of goalies in the NHL. Bad Goalies (bottom 10-15%), everyone else, and Great Goalies/Henrik Lundqvist. Its a position I'm not going to really be concerned about until I have reason to be concerned about it. My only problem with Lehner is that he cost me a 1st to get him. -
Its been a running theme on Sabres Twitter and WGR this year that Risto has weirdly bad fancy-stats. No one is really sure why. Defensive partner certainly plays a part, though.

(Maybe Bylsma has a good system for stopping McDavid...)

I love this quote. Karlsson, Burns, PK, off the top of my head. But those are the only ones I can think of right now that would be a no-brainer, straight up trade. Not taking contracts into consideration here, of course.

Landeskog is exactly who I hoped/thought Zemgus was going to be. :(

hnnng yes. Duchene on that top line with ROR and Okposo? 1st, Baptise, Kane get us close?

Thats pretty cool. Because one project, or 6, are never enough, tonight I'm going to be getting started on a sofa table for our living room. Something like this: I got a couple pieces of barn wood (I know, I'm a hipster, but I like it) off of craigslist a year or so ago, so I think that'll be the main part of it. I'll try to do process pics here.

Eichel asked about McDavid today *worlds largest eyeroll* EDIT: If you need it w/o the caption:

We did a bunch of work on our back yard this summer. Replaced an old chain-link fence with a new wood one with the help of our neighbor, and a bunch of extra help from my father-in-law who designed the whole thing, and my family who we shanghai'd into helping us do the grunt work. I also built a raised bed and a digging spot for the dog in (basically a dog sandbox. He's a terrier, we're hoping we can DIRECT the digging instead of trying to eliminate it.) I'll take some pictures if I ever see sunlight again.

Political family? Pssh. We all know its to launder their dirty money.

I've had them not bubble, but usually its because I screwed up, not the lid. A good twist usually does the job. Just because you aren't bubbling certainly doesn't mean the batch is going to go bad. I've used it for both primary and secondary. Eventually I'm going to get another one so I can use them for both.

I have a Big Mouth. Its great. Super easy to clean and take care of. I also do a couple batches a year where I use fruit in it, and putting it in/taking it out is a ton easier with that opening. I'd suggest the plastic one, the glass ones had some shattering issues early on. They might have fixed it, but I haven't heard one way or the other. Plastic is a ton lighter, too.

I've gotta watch the Larry Sanders show. I've heard so much about it since Garry Shandling died. Its pretty clearly a big influence for Arrested Development, and most of the single cam comedy shows out there today. Just to keep this on topic, Jack is a god amongst boys. -
