Hopefully we can keep this discussion kosher, but I thought a good dialogue was happening about this before: http://nhl.nbcsports.com/2016/12/27/womens-league-announces-policy-for-transgender-athletes/?utm_network=twitter&utm_post=6676007&utm_source=TW%20%40NBCSports&utm_tags=srm%5Bhockey%5D No mention of what the limits are, but theres the answer some were looking for on how this will work with at least the NWHL: if you were born female then whatever your testosterone levels are you are allowed to play in the NWHL, as long as you are not undergoing hormone therapy. If you were born male and have transitioned or will be transitioning, you must show hormone levels consistent with other female athletes. In the case of Harrison from the Beauts, he has not begun hormone treatments, and is therefore still within the bounds of the league rules, even though he has changed how he would like to be designated.

What was it, about 100 grand?

My wife "got" me a kegging system for my birthday in September (ie. she gave me the go-ahead to buy one). I've got to figure out what I want and buy it. It'll probably happen in February or so once we recover from Christmas. I am very open to suggestions.

As usual, I put off bottling my beer for about a week longer than I planned on because its a huge pain. I can't wait to get my kegging system...

I think this issue is really the same issue as the "Making Sabrespace more approachable to newcomers" thing from last year. There are a lot of people on here (or, at least, there were) who had made this place very personal to them. They didn't/don't view this as a public sports forum, but more a place to talk to friends about their lives and hobbies. Sure, the main hobby they talked about was hockey, but it had evolved beyond that. Its not that they were trying to be exclusive, but like anyone who finds themselves as the newcomer amongst a group of old friends, sometimes it takes a while to break through and become a part of the crew, to speak the language that had been developed over long years together. Personally I don't care about the politics thing here almost at all. That thread was a distilled version of the rest of the forum, so it was pretty inaccessible for me to jump into. A couple times here and there I would post, but I wasn't really willing to do the research necessary to be a real contributor in there. But the problem was you had this group of people who viewed the forum, and that post specifically, as a personal conversation. Someone stepping in and saying, "you can't talk about this any more" felt to them like a real invasion of privacy. Personal, not business. I get where the mods came from, and I even agree somewhat. And I think the rest of the posters could have been smarter about how they dealt with it and not brought it up in every conversation on this board. That was just gas on the fire. I am guilty of this too, though I was/am just trying to be funny about it, even if I'm not succeeding. And this site is SDS's, he can do how he likes. I do think, though, that the moderating staff could have been a bit more transparent about it all, and that would have helped. -
This is so good. Not quite as good as Staffords Festivus, but still good.

I haven't read that one in a while. "It's common to hear Buffalonians refer to "Rite Aid's," "Kmart's" or "Noco's," as if there's a "Mr. Noco" that owns the gas station chain. " lol

haha, I meant to tweet when I got out of it that my favorite technology advancement in all of Star Wars is the universal data port. EDIT: I remembered another thing, which was that their binoculars suck. I think we have better zoom on some camera phones than those things have. EDIT2: As someone who works in the data storage industry, this article is hitting me right where I live. -

Agreed. If we find out Rey is Luke's daughter like some have suggested I'm going to be pissed. -

Hmm, I wonder if a straight chronological order would work better now. I understand the point of the Machete order with not spoiling things, but unless this is someone's first contact w/ Star Wars I'm not sure if its really neccessary. Plus adding R1 into the mix might allow for a good break from the main storyline. Next one-off is a Han Solo origin story, so eventually the chrono order would be 1, 2, 3, HS, R1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Man, there's a lot of SW movies now... -

No spoiler tag, because everyone should watch this: "What if Episode One Was Good?" He goes through all three movies in separate videos and essentially retells the story. He ends up wayy off from the original script by the third one, but I think the story is better. Part of me hopes they eventually redo those stories, but I just don't know how you could justify it... -

Saw Rogue One on Saturday, I thought it was great. -
I don't think snarky usernames have any place here.

I had a small one that annoyed me for years. Eventually I had it surgically removed by myself in the bathroom with a pair of nail clippers. It bled like a sonovabitch for a while, but soo worth it in the end.

I usually get an order of wings and eat about 2/3ds of them in a sitting. I eat slow, though, so a lot of time its peer pressure from people who want to get on with their lives...

They're definitely overpriced. But sometimes they're an itch that needs scratching, and nothing else will do.

Yup, my personal favorite. Good sized, crispy, but enough sauce and enough meat to handle it. Flavor is just right. Its the winner in my book.
-
Maybe someday I'll give it a try. I would definitely not tell anyone about it until it was over, though, haha. And I promise to never do any audience participation stuff if I do. I hate that.

I've always admired stand-up comics. I don't think there's really anything like it when it comes to being exposed to an audience. You get up there, you're funny or your not. Or you are and they still don't laugh. Takes more guts than I probably have. That being said, I'd like to try it someday. I'm not really sure I'd actually be funny, but, you know, whatever.
