  1. It was a week where the wife was gone for work, and I didn't feel like shopping, so I just bought the big pizza and pretty much ate it breakfast lunch and dinner for the week. Not healthy by any stretch of the imagination, but simple and effective.
  2. I wish March Madness wasn't in March when we hosted it. Worst Buffalo weather month, and Canalside is stuck in between the ice rinks and the canals, so its kinda boring down there. If they came in February or May its so much nicer.
  3. I have ordered a sheet pizza for myself instead of grocery shopping for a week AMA
  4. For reference, I specifically meant microwave re-heating. You guys who can wait 8 minutes for leftover pizza have 10x the willpower I do. Also, did somebody say Cary Grant yet? Because that's Cary Grant. From His Girl Friday. EDIT: Even better in video form: Cary Grant was the .
  5. Cold pizza is better re-heated pizza and I will fight anyone who says differently.
  6. I do think he needs a purer scorer, but Kane as a power forward with the way Eichel can see the ice and skate is great. If Nylander is the guy we think/hope he is, him as the other winger is probably ideal, a true sniper to fill out that line. I do like Bailey/Baptiste in the interim. I want to see them A LOT more next year.
  7. I think if they do a redemption for him its should be a REAL one, not a mirror of Vader and he dies at the last second killing Snoke to save the world, etc. I think he dives deep into the dark side to start this movie, but begins a move to the light (or balanced) side by the end, and the next episode is fully about him trying to do good again. Or something.
  8. My theory on the "no moar Jedi" thing, is thus: Luke beleives that as long as people only using the light side of the force exist, people only using the dark side will also exist. The Jedi need to end, and a new group of force users, who can take power from, and tame the powers of, both the light and the dark side of the force, should emerge. This gives a nice option for a Kylo Ren redemption arc, who is learning the dark side currently, something Luke has only flirted with in the past.
  9. I am fully off the Trade Kane train now, unless we get a ridiculous deal for him. Kane in the playoffs is something I want to see, he's made for that.
  10. I just love Kane with EIchel, I think they work really well together. Kane-Eichel-Okposo would be fire, as the kids say.
  11. How would people feel about flipping ROR to wing and making Reinhart his center? ROR-Samson-Okposo, Kane-Jack-?
  12. I used to know yours when it started with "867-" because I used the song.
  13. Ok, I want Dan out, but this idea that he's the worst coach of all time or something is a little much. This defense has needed help for YEARS and everyone has known it. If Ghule immediately steps in and becomes a Top-Pair d-man thats great, but I don't think that expectation is reasonable. The defense this year was abysmal, and thats not all DB. What your describing is a defense that looks something like: Risto-Guhle McCabe-Bogo Falk-Fedun Borgen? Thats not good enough for me to make any sort of run in the playoffs, regardless of coach.
  14. Those deals are nutso these days.
  15. Moneywise at current rates, you're talking 3.25m (Lehner and Nilsson) out and 5.75m (Lehtonen and Ullmark) in, adding 2.5m on the cap for a year from where we are now. Not sure this is the year I want to be adding money to our cap with deals for Kane, Eichel, and Reinhart on the way, but maybe this is the last year to get away with it.
  16. The general problem for trading a goaltender for a Defenseman is that Defensemen are WAY more valuable at this point. Look at what it took for Edmonton to get Adam Larsson for Pete's sake. I don't think Lehner and the #1 is as valuable as it needs to be to get a top-3 d-man.
  17. Only if we sign Peterson this offseason. I could live with Nilsson (or other replacement level goalie) and Ullmark for a year, but Peterson sounds like a stud, and I need to know we have some options coming down the line.
  18. No, but I think I'd rather trade the pick and a lesser youngish player (Girgensons, Carrier, Foligno, Baptise, etc.) than lose Reinhart. I think he's going to be great, I really do.
  19. I think it would be more likely that we trade the pick, but I don't know anything about the prospects this year.
  20. I don't claim to know that much about basketball (hell, I don't know that much about hockey), but I think this idea that NBA coaches are just babysitters is in accurate. Look at the difference between the way Golden State plays versus the San Antonio Spurs. Sure, that's partially who you have on the team (Tim Duncan and Steph Curry might actually be from different planets), but just like any sport, coming up with how to effectively use those players is very important.
  21. Jo, if it wasn't, like, your livelihood, I think coming up with insane clients to troll you with would be a hilarious pastime. "Yeah, I want a logo that's an Andy Warhol-esque interpretation of an A-1 Abrams tank, but like, a SEXY tank."
  22. Regarding the leadership thing, Schopp just said something interesting. He said that in a conversation with Lindy, socially, not on the air, Lindy was talking about a team from the early 2000's who had Gilmour and a couple other older guys who were leaders, but not in their prime. Basically said "If your leaders are not important players the team its tough for them to lead, because they can't do it by example." Guys like Gio and Gorges and Moulson once were better players, and therefore better leaders because they could show guys what to do. I don't think he's saying that skill is the same as leadership, especially since Lindy was captain once himself and certainly not a skilled player, but that its easier to follow someone who doesn't just KNOW how to do stuff, but can still do it too. Just an interesting tidbit.
  23. I'm actually ok with that. His job is to win however he sees best, not listen to the fans' every whim. This is the exact reason GM's should not be making decisions about how the game is played, because they only care about their team's wins, not about the "product" on the ice.
