  1. I mean, they're right in some ways; dude can step in and do the job right away. I worry about his cap management, though. The more I think about it, the more I want Lombardi for VP of Hockey Ops and a youngblood GM.
  2. great question
  3. I don't know, just like I didn't know who the hell McDermott was until...hell I still don't know who he is. But loose characteristics: "Tough" coach Defensive minded "Blue collar" Not flashy or brash, just "gets the job done" So, you know, Sutter probably.
  4. I think, like someone upthread said, I could live with Lombardi as long as he hires a coach thats not "old school" coach. However, I'm pretty sure we're going to get the hockey version of Sean McDermott.
  5. I have a feeling I might not have that long: Mark Spector‏Verified account @SportsnetSpec Follow More Hearing former Kings GM Dean Lombardi interviewed in Buffalo yesterday. More candidates scheduled for this week/weekend.
  6. I think I'm hoping that Calgary is dumb enough to let Treliving walk and we can get him. He's turned Calgary around pretty quickly, and he's well liked up there.
  7. Remember, the Pegula's are in year 6 of owning the team, and only year, what, 3 of owning the Bills? Its going to take them a bit to learn how to do this stuff, and who to listen to about it.
  8. Maybe not long term, but I think he's played well enough to get a 3-5 year deal this off-season. QFT
  9. I'd bet we have a new GM within what, I week? Gotta move fast here, a lot of decisions to make, and soon.
  10. Just like those other ideas
  11. Asking the important questions.
  12. I think this almost has to be it. It happened day 2 of them talking. If they wanted to fire Tim and Dan outright they could have done that yesterday.
  13. Also that
  14. yes YES aaaaand you've lost me
  15. I saw some stuff about how guys don't usually play in "contract" years, which this KIND OF is for Eichel. I honestly wouldn't have begrudged him wanting to take an entire offseason and just recover considering he played in the world cup last year and whatnot. Still, glad he'll be playing.
  16. Finally watched the two episodes last night. I might post more later, but for now let me say that I could watch Mike Ehrmantraut make and eat a PB&J sandwich without saying anything for 44 minutes and probably be entertained. BCS is at its best when it is speaking least.
  17. This is insanity
  18. This isn't "something", this would be letting the best player since Hasek left, and potentially anywhere from Top-5 to best in franchise history, leave. He should be a Sabre for life. If he isn't I will no longer be capable of withstanding the level of ineptitude of Buffalo Sports. I don't think it will happen, and it will be a while before it does, but I am quite serious about it. Eichel is my last hope for Buffalo Sports relevance, if he goes, I go with him.
  19. I will say right now, I will follow Eichel to another team rather than stay a Sabres fan if he walks because management is inept at any point in his career. Other than the Leafs, Flyers, and Bruins. Then I'll just stop being a fan entirely.
  20. Hamilton's opinions can be a bit suspect to me; he's old school hockey to a fault. But I always believe him when he reports stuff; dude is old school beat reporter, too.
  21. I used to email documents/pictures/other files to myself, so Drive was a big upgrade for me.
  22. Yeah, I use Google Drive for all that. Something like 10-15G of free storage. I move stuff easily between my phone and several different computers.
  23. As a guy who used to make pallets for a living for like 6 months, its a very nice pallet.
