Going to see these guys on Thursday: Friend had an extra ticket and I know nothing about them besides the stuff I've listened to the last couple days. They're good, I need more punk in my life.

For my money they can get decent goaltending for cheap by just signing cheap vets or late round draft picks for the rest of Eichel's career. There are 3 tiers of goalies in the NHL: The Best, The Worst, and The Rest, and about 75% of goalies sit in that last category. Ideally my goalie will never take up more than about 5-7% of my cap space on his own.

I feel like all the people who like Fleury now are forgetting, like, the rest of his time in Pittsburgh. If Pitt wants to pay me to take him I'll listen, otherwise noooo thanks.

Broke out this old guy for nostalgia's sake the other day: City building game with a greek mythology bend. Me and my brother played the crap out of this game for a while.

Maybe Vegas take him, but if not then I don't see any way he's not on the team next year. I keep forgetting about him when I plan out the blueline, but he's to expensive to buyout or trade. I don't really think he's that bad, that contract though...woof.

I think the handling of the cap is the thing I'm most interested in with J-bot. Its never really been an issue here before; when the cap initially went in we had an owner who would never spend enough to get to it anyways, and since then we haven't had players worth paying enough that it would have been a big problem. Eichel, Kane, Reinhart are all up next year, not to mention Lehner and whatever D-men you manage to bring in. That'll be a big challenge.

I'm not saying I feel particularly bad for him, but that's an awkward line of questioning.

If this is true, I know the team can't say anything, but it'd be nice for Okposo to come out and give us a "hey, I'm alive" something or other. I know he's not obligated to and if he wants to keep it private I get it, but, you know.

I accept that those guys are highly skilled. I accept that there are a lot of people that like them. There are small sections of metal that I like, and I can see the appeal of the scene. I just have no interest in listening to 95% of what's out there, old, new, or otherwise. Specifically, Metallica, who, to use the parlance of this thread, suck.

I'm just saying completely making it over in a year will be tough. If Kulikov, Franson, and Fedun all leave, AND you drop Gorges, that's 4 new bodies you need in there. That's a 57% turnover, with at least 2 guys having never played in the NHL before. Not that the 4 that are leaving were that important, or even that good, but man, thats a lot to ask. I guess I'm talking myself into expecting our defense to be about the same level as last year. Blech. Granted, if J-Bots brings in a top pair guy then my whole position changes.

Except 3 of the 6 guys you mentioned are UFA's this year. Do you really think there's any chance of Franson or Kulikov coming back? I'm all for getting rid of Gorges, but I need a body there. Maybe Guhle or Antipin step into those spots, but then I'm still not really sure if we've improved at all.
