As the (self-appointed) leader of the "No Nostolgia" club, I think its just a coincidence. Both of these guys were talked about for a while as being desirable to a number of teams. Nolan and Lafontaine was fanboying, these guys are legit, and just happen to have been Sabres (I think).

I'd bet tomorrow earliest. Give the NHL and fans time to enjoy the final. I would be perfectly happy to be wrong, however.

I try to side with the players as much as possible, so I'm ok with the rule as is. But I think either it will be changed in the next CBA, or teams will start drafting college kids later, or possibly both. Its a serious risk, and I'm not wasting a highish round pick (2-3) on a guy who could just walk after a couple years. Guys who are first rounders aren't as big a deal, as they'll probably enter earlier, but if I'm a GM I want as close as I can get to a sure thing that a player will eventually play for my team with every pick.

The only real indication of time in Breaking Bad is Hal...er I mean Walt's birthdays. First episode is on his 50th, last is on his 52nd. Rough two years.
