  1. See, now I'm sold. The "Lazy Vanek" meme is one of my favorite of all time. Gotta get him back.
  2. Vanek might be worth bringing back just so we could actually score in the shootout.
  3. Mean, I agree with not bringing the old core back in general, but if you took Eichel and put it with that core in their heyday, whooboy. Can you imagine Jack that first year out of the lockout?
  4. This is great stuff
  5. Also, if you somehow end up with too many top-6 forwards (unlikely, but hey, dare to dream), then you just trade one then as long as they're on a livable deal.
  6. I still disagree that he can't play with ROR or EIchel. Thats exactly where I want him.
  7. I think if Kane's value is as low as certain reporters seem to think that we might be able to resign him for a more reasonable contract than we were thinking before. If we can lock him up for, say. 5.5 a year (small increase from where he is now, 5.25) are more people interested in signing him long term here? 6? Whats the cutoff point.
  8. For me it would be partially about rebuilding a very deficient defense prospect pipeline. EDIT: I can't tell if this sentence makes sense, but I can't seem to fix it, so whatever.
  9. Swedish or Swede-ish?
  10. I don't see him signing a long term deal for under 10. He knows what he's worth to this team.
  11. Max is like, 20% of the cap on one player, which would put it around 15 mil? McDavid is talking around 13 at the moment, but he has a Hart.
  12. We should have a bet on this, like when you bet on the weight of a child being born. 7 years, 11 per.
  13. I love these "Tiny Desk" interview/concerts by NPR. They always have stuff I would never find on my own: http://www.npr.org/event/music/533794725/holly-macve-tiny-desk-concert?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=nprmusic&utm_term=music&utm_content=20170623 I've never gotten into new country because, well, most of it is pretty bad IMO. But I like some older stuff, and this reminds me of some old country-western. They mention Patsy Cline and I'd buy that.
  14. There's a Dinos in B-lo, too! People with stronger opinions than me can tell you how they compare.
  15. Agreed. Also, the game against Chicago on St. Patricks day at 1PM seems like a -show waiting to happen.
  16. A lot of people on this board are hoping for a Bogo rebound, and I'm over here telling myself that the "real" Gus will show himself again this year with a different coach.
  17. D4rk has been on a quest for a while to find a bowling alley somewhere in Buffalo that still serves OV splits. It must still exist somewhere.
  18. Officially official https://sabresdigitalpressbox.com/2017/06/26/sabres-hire-sexton-greeley-as-assistant-general-managers/ Greeley comes to the Sabres after two seasons as the assistant director of player personnel with the New York Rangers. Before his tenure with the Rangers, Greeley spent two seasons as an associate coach at Boston University, where he played a vital role in the school’s recruiting process. Greeley also spent seven seasons (2006-07 to 2012-13) in the scouting department for the Los Angeles Kings and served as a regional scout for the U.S. National Team Development Program from 2009 to 2012.
  19. This is the stupidest joke I've laughed out loud about in a while.
  20. Yeah, I'm unconcerned.
  21. I just remember callers on WGR constantly freaking out that he would refuse to come here, which even worse than the fear of Mittlestadt not coming here.
  22. No https://www.bu.edu/today/2015/jack-eichel-signs-to-buffalo-sabres/ I mean, your point still stands; he was never going to wait 5 years to come out as that high of a pick, but still.
