Resurgence's Vanilla Cappuccino Pumpkin Ale is my favorite pumpkin beer by a large margin. Not overwhelmingly spiced. In the past I'd drink a Warlock, my second favorite pumpkin beer, once or twice at the beginning of the season, then call it a day for all pumpkin beers until the next fall. Van Cap I can easily drink a 4 pack of tall boys in a weekend and enjoy every one. Resurgence can be underwhelming, but that one hits me right where I live.

I guess my real point is, what makes you think that they haven't been scouting WNY? Just because they haven't drafted those specific guys that you mentioned? Thats not really enough for me. The Sabres have sucked at drafting in general for a while, scouting one specific location has nothing to do with it, IMO.

Didn't the take a shot at Iafallo? I mean, I'm sure they knew about him even if they didn't. I don't think this is a thing. You might as well say "do we scout enough from Winnipeg? Look at this list of 10 players from there that they didn't draft." I'd rather they treat every location the same, not give some sort of extra attention to Western/Upstate New York. Hometown guys are nice stories, but I'd rather just have the best talent regardless of where they're from.

Luke in the Falcon. Excellant. I really hope this one goes how I'm picturing. If so, then the first one being a near replica of the earlier episodes will actually end up being a perfect set up. Lull us into a false sense of security, then rip the rug out from under our feet.

Haven't seen the new season, but I have heard GREAT things.

Started watching it this week. Halfway through the season, and I'm not super sure how much I like it, but I'm not stopping either. Some parts are riveting, but I don't really get what the story is driving at at this point.

I definitely read that as "injured".

We need Bogo back. Him with McCabe (I think those sides line up, but I can never keep them straight) to push out Tennyson and give another solid line would help out that Top pair a lot.

I know Bylsma's tweaking of the lines was a constant issue, but I don't mind it for a new coach with a bunch of new players. Hopefully eventually they'll settle in. My biggest problem with the power play is that they let the power play coach from last year go. Dumb. But this is supposed to be a thread about good things, so: Jack's passing this year has been ###### beautiful. I'd like more shots and goals from him, but he's saucering those things through the legs of defenders like twice a game.

I was excited about Koeman, too. Lukaku is a big loss, and is nearly impossible to replace, but they should be far better than they have been.

I said it before, but I was late to the Tragically Hip party. They stayed on my musical peripheral for a long time, as friends would talk them up, but they never caught with me. It only took about 15 minutes of seeing Gord on stage a few years ago for it all to make sense. I feel like I'm losing a friend I was just getting to know. Rest in Peace, Gord.

This is the real loss from the WC miss; we finally have a real star on our hands in Pulisic, and he could have been front and center for the 25 minutes every 4 years that the average sports fan in America actually pays attention to soccer. That's the exact sort of thing needed to increase interest in the sport, and they're losing that 'free' advertising now.
