Soccer (Football) ~ Everything About The Beautiful Game
sabills replied to Sabres Fan in NS's topic in The Aud Club
Iceland is my Cinderella team. Making it out of groups would be exciting for them. They're with Nigeria, Argentina, and Croatia, so that would be a hell of a thing (Croatia is good). In bigger name teams, probably Belgium. I've still got a thing for Lukaku from his Everton days. De Bruyne, Hazard(s), Batshuayi. Should be a good squad. -
Its a trade only Chiarelli could love.
-
What a steal that would be. I'd probably do Risto for Klefbom straight up. And I don't even WANT to trade him.

Do we have enough Westworld fans here to start a seperate thread? Because hot damn I love that show. I think the most recent episode might be the best yet. -

Definitely identify with this too. My dad is this way with his job. He's held like 4 positions at his current company, and while they're all related they're all a little different. So if somebody from department X leaves, even though he's in department Y now he can pick up the slack. It was partially a practical thing for him too. If there are layoffs or something at his company (and they've had several rounds of them since he's been there), him being able to be flexible in his work makes him more valuable, even if someone else is stronger in one area. I've tried to model my "career" after his in that way.

Soccer (Football) ~ Everything About The Beautiful Game

As much as I want to hate Liverpool, Everton is an adopted home for me so its not in my blood, and man they were great this year. How do I hate a team with Salah on it? That team would be a lot of fun to see Pulisic play in. What are the chances of him getting some good time there? I think Spurs make a lot of sense. Him feeding Kane would be a lot of fun. -

Looking more and more like Big Sam is out at Everton. I was thinking of renouncing my Everton support in favor of one of the bigger teams, but if Sam leaves I'll stick around. Plus City was who I was thinking of picking up and I can't jump on that bandwagon NOW. I think instead I'll just get more into Dortmund as team in a different league, that'll give me some European soccer to watch unless/until Everton can make some moves into the upper level. Though if Pulisic moves to the EPL I can't be held responsible for my actions of who I support at that point. I just hope he moves to a blue team (City, Chelsea, Spurs, no way it'll be Everton but sure) instead of a red one (United, Liverpool, Arsenal). I hate all those Reds. -
Missed that one. What a dink.

So I don't know if this came out elsewhere, and I can't completely vouch for the veracity of the claim, but I heard from a friend who has no interest in sports a story about what happened with Brandon. The person telling me this seemed to think it was common knowledge, but they heard it from someone who's somehow works for the Bills/Pegulas in a marketing position. Basically, according to this person, Brandon was having an affair with someone who worked for him. The Pegulas found out and told him to stop. He said he would. They found out he didn't, he lied about it, and they let him go. If that's true, and again I don't know for sure, but it would jive with some of the stuff we've heard and with the NFL not pursuing it any further, then its skeevy, but not as bad as I might have imagined. Still, any time there are things between employees and employers, especially those so high up in an organization, there can be pressures, either real or perceived. And lying about it to your boss is no good.

Right. Saying you're drinking sours wrong because you're not adding syrup is like saying you're drinking whiskey wrong because you're not adding ice. Drink what you like, how you like.

If you want to get technical, what makes a sour a sour is the presence of one of two different bacteria strains, lactobacillus or pediococcus, both of which eat sugars and then release lactic acid instead of alcohol. That lactic acid is what gives the beer its sourness. Some people put Brett beer (beer that uses brettanomyces instead or in addition to saccharomyces yeast, which is the standard beer yeast) in the sour list as well, but thats more "funky" than sour, and generally has its own category. As Levar Burton would put it, you don't have to take my word for it: https://www.bjcp.org/docs/2015_Guidelines_Beer.pdf Section 23 European Sour Ales. Lists those ones I mentioned as well as Oud Bruin as sours. They're the authority, here. And that doesn't take American Wild Ales into consideration, which the beer world also considers sours, depending on the beer. HE BROUGHT THIS ON HIMSELF
-
nooooo no no no Lambics, geuze (gose), wild ales, Flanders red all also fall under the sour mantle, and there are others. Most came about separately from each other and are from all over west central Europe. You could even toss saisons and other farmhouse styles into there, they have a sourness to them as well. Plus at this point beer has become so widespread and varied that there are new styles all the time, and putting them in small boxes can be troublesome. The BJCP adds new styles every year because of the constant new innovations in beer and styles. There are certainly sour beers that, besides tasting sour, hold no real resemblance to a Weisse.
-
Berliner Weisse is one type of sour. There are many other beer styles that fall under that category. I think the Berliner is the only one that has TRADITIONALLY had syrups added to them, though of course you could do it to any that you like. Most Belgian style beers have a sour hit to them because of the yeast that comes from there.
-
They've been doing this for a while. I assume its just for alliterative purposes. But yeah, its Subs or bust around here.
-
Wait for a super hot day and then go nuts and try a sour. Sometimes it just hits the spot.

I started to talk myself into Allen once the Sabres won the lotto, which is incredibly irrational, but...well here we are.

Ok, cool, we've got our 1st PP lineup set. Risto and Dahlin back on D, Reino in front of the net, Eichs and Olaf on the halfwalls.

bang on.
