Eichel with 10 feet on either side and an open lane to the goal? Yeah, get that man the puck. Nice job by Lehner.

I mostly remember him from the Godfather. Thats a lie, I mostly remember him as the resident old-guy joke on the old Conan Late night show. I can't find a video, but the best was them finding the Rockefellar Christmas Abe Vigoda, chopping him down in someones back yard, then strapping him to a flatbed and trasporting him to Rockefellar Plaza and decorating him. This one is pretty good, though: http://www.popscreen.com/v/seM/Late-Night-with-Conan-OBrien-Setting-Abe-Vigoda-Free I love a guy who is ok with making fun of himself. Sad. 94 is a good age, though. G'bye, Abe.

I think teammates are finally getting used to Eichel's speed. Moulson (I think?) was right there on that rush, ready for the rebound. -

I'm gonna watch this video like 30 times in a row. Team building stuff. Love it. https://twitter.com/AmherstAleHouse/status/689308434139844608 Best part is Reinhart telling fish stories to Jack.

First this would stop absolutely no one from looking at their phones who were going to anyways. Secondly, that place has been a morgue since 2009 before they put Wi-Fi in. You are right though, those people are idiots. And I'm one of them at times. You paid like 50 bucks for those tickets, watch the game! I think there's theres a few issues. The team is still not great, even if they're more fun than before. That place also just sucks up sound; it is not built in a way to help the sound build, the acoustics suck. When its loud, more people get loud. When its quiet, noone wants to be the one to start something. And this might be a little crazy, but are there maybe to many season ticket holders? I know most people split them with others, or sell them, so maybe it doesn't really make a difference, but if I went to 40 games a year by game 18 I probably wouldn't be as into it anymore. You say that about everything.

So are the people who were upset that Ullmark got sent down happy that Pysyk isn't playing because it won't disrupt the winning streak?
-
I think you and I have very different opinions about this seasons goals. I don't think Murray is worried about winning streaks.(Also, are we really calling 2 games a streak? I guess the way our latests seasons have gone it might be fair.) Not that he's trying to tank like he was last year, but the end results this year don't matter. You bring Lehner up because you want your guys to get used to playing with the guy who you believe is the #1 goalie for the future, and that is Lehner to Murray. You may think he's wrong, but I'm sure he doesn't care. The point of this year is getting this team to grow together. Having them build chemistry with a goalie who isn't going to be on the team for a season or so is helping nobody in the long term. I get not wanting to mess with winning, but back to back wins in January when your team is in 28th place is not a reason to think the future is now.
-
Oh, you mean like Ullmark in September? Lets not pretend that Ullmark has been Hasek circa 1999 here; he had a good last two games but anyone who is splitting time with Chad Johnson is not so good that they have to keep him up here. This is better for his development anyways; let him be the man in the AHL for a year, then when Johnson's contract is up he comes up. If Lehner hasn't proven himself by then, well then we have a goalie competition on our hands.

For the record I like home whites; it really doesn't make a lot of difference to me because I go to about 2 games a year, but for season ticket holders or those who go a lot I get why seeing other colors would be nice. I just want more color on color games when feasible. And also new white jerseys, but I still say that waits 4 more years.
-
Color v. Color should happen more in sports in general, especially now that we're (slowly) climbing out of the 2000's "Everybody wears black or the darkest version of their color possible" stint. When I play NHL video games and I play a team like the Flames or the Preds I love doing color on color with the Sabres old royal blue vs. the Flames in bright red or the Preds in yellow-gold. It looks awesome.

I think, again, that he's just bored with it. How many times can you have the same conversation about the same two sports over and over, especially since the Bills story hasn't changed in 16 years really. It might be time for him to move on, but I also like the dynamic of the show overall, and Bulldog, as much as I like him, is snoozeville when he's on his own.
-
If I was king of sports media my first two initiatives would be: 1) Phasing out call-in portions of shows (special exemptions allowed, to be determined by me, ie the day after Ralph died, when the Pegulas got the Bills, etc.) 2) Phasing out meaningless post-game interviews with players.
-
I agree with a lot of that, and I think the bold is exactly spot on. He's just tired of it. Unfortunately that means he'll cut off people that don't deserve it sometimes. When they do caller heavy shows I generally turn them off; half because the callers are terrible and half because he's terrible to the callers.

After growing up listening to Chuck Dickerson its difficult for me to listen to people complain about Schopp.
-
Its funny, I hear some people say that, and other people say "All they do is trash the Bills and Sabres!!!! Go #BIllsMerfia!" so I don't know. I think the hosts, in general, are VERY critical of the teams when they do stuff wrong. Granted, they glommed on to the Tank thing early, but arguably the organization would have been happier if they shut the hell up about it and let them do it quietly. White and Schopp had been calling for that sort of thing well before the Sabres committed to it, anyways. But if it already is a propaganda machine, why the hell pay a couple million more than you already have something for a lot cheaper?
-
Could happen, but honestly, I don't know why they would want to. They have their own shows on WGR already, plus tons of access to them. I guess you could say that they don't like the hosts being critical, but I don't think they care that much, and if the new station is just going to be team propoganda I doubt that'll really challenge WGR for the throne. What do I know though. If they did that, though, it'd be interesting to see if some faces changed at WGR. Obviously Kevin/Andrew would move, and so would Murph, but I wonder if they wouldn't give Sal his own show, and maybe Matthew Coller, who is an underutilized talent at WGR IMHO. If they did that, and gave those guys reign to be critical of the teams/management/ownership, then you might see it move the dial a bit.

The "There Is Nothing Wrong With Jack Eichel" Thread
sabills replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
This is interesting: Jack Eichel is second to last in Corsi for the Sabres, but No. 1 in 5v5 scoring. When he figures out the 200 ft game... Verified account -

You might be able to get out of it by saying you've watched this show and no longer trust the legal system. Ok, I'm leaving this thread til I finish the show. I have a feeling I'm going to watch it all once I start.

Trying to kickstart my plan to actually get in shape this year by starting a beginners Muay Thai class this week or next. I imagine it will kick my ass, but the first month is free in case its way to much for me, and I'm better with stuff when I have a goal beside just "bike for an hour" or "run 5 miles". There are classes are at Riverworks on Wednesdays at 6:30, and I curl there at 8, so if I can walk out of the class without falling over I can just shower and change, then jump on the ice, which would consolidate my activites for the week into one day, and that leaves me the rest of the week to actually accomplish things (or the exact opposite of that). Looks like fun; heres hoping I can follow through on it.
