  1. The Chicago Blackhawks have signed Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane to eight-year contract extensions http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=456795
  2. Agreed the West looks strong, but I still think Edmonton takes a step up. I think Vancouver Calgary goes nowhere and slowly the Sharks and Ducks start falling while Calgary makes progress but remains in the cellar. I think the west go tougher. No sure what to think about Phoenix, but treading water doesn't seem to do well out west so, I agreed Arizona will fall too. It depends how well the West beats up on the East, especially with the lower ranked teams as to how definite the Sabres compete for the top bottom spot in the draft with their pick and the Isles number 1.
  3. So who is still available?
  4. Get well soon RJ. All our prayers for you.
  5. Good Offensive D, had a few too many hiccups while in NY. Got to see him a lot and he reminds me of Erhoff last year without the shot... too many boneheaded plays... err. Weber... but can skate.
  6. So I can't spell... sue me... didn't bother checking it cause I am all smiles... Amek...
  7. Just got back from adult league hockey after watching the U.S. get outclassed by Belgium, but played with a lot of heart and started reading about all the Sabres moves and who am I impressed by TM. Ah their is a light and TM saw that it was good. Lazar or who else does Murray know about in their farm system?
  8. Nice to come home from a men's league game and hear all about these signings. I agree Sabres will need some growing up, but the D is solidified with Georges and Mazaros. Myers is expendable now and can be traded for another number 1 in 2015 and the Sabres gained some veteran leadership for the young guys. All smiles... if Murray does not do anything more except deal with Myers till next years draft he has done more that Darcy did competently in 16 years here. Wow.... I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel and it isn't an incoming train...
  9. Sort of Disagree, only insofar as the writer refers back to the draft and why in their opinion the Sabres should consider drafting another D or trading Myers for pics in this draft. If the discussion is only about Myers development and not related back to the topic then I agree with you. Some statements are implicit in the discussion but should probably be clarified for reading purposes. Just my two cents.
  10. Agreed bad, but Penalty kicks in elimination round is worse. Both reasons why I would rather watch hockey.
  11. Sorry, I was referring to the last couple of Darcy drafts.
  12. Battle of the threads.... this is funny.
  13. Who is Colin White. Need to have a friend check up on him. Sabres mocked to pick him with Isles pick.
  14. So time to start boning up on the 2015 draft no that this one is over. NHL.com article already out: http://www.nhl.com/i....htm?id=724468. Other than Eichel and McDavid, who is really out there that makes 2015 considered deep? http://www.nhl.com/i...s.htm?id=724468 Here is some info from an already published mock draft: http://www.draftsite...ock-draft/2015/ And an article from the Toronto Sun: http://www.torontosun.com/2014/06/26/forward-thinking-previewing-the-2015-nhl-draft
  15. Always liked him and he seemed to play better towards the end of the year. Those type of injuries can take a while to fully recover from.
  16. Agreed, though I wondered about the goalie choice so early and why not Barbashev of Karlsson? Still don't know enough about these guys to make an educated judgement. Haven't watched any of them other than highlights and have no idea of their consistency and motor. We shall see...
  17. I was a little underwhelmed by this draft. I like Reinhardt and Lemieux. The goalie seems like he was taken a little early and missing out on Barbashev and Karlsson seems like a mistake. That being said, we all know and it was said after the first 20 or so this draft is a crap shoot, so who knows. I like the idea of taking a couple high schoolers late, especially the kid with those serious numbers (Christopher Brown: sixth round (No. 151) who scored 84 points, including 58 assists, in just 28 games.) Granted none of the previous HSers have really panned out, so who knows. This draft was hard to gauge and still appears to be. Was curious so little movement, maybe because this draft was average and from a Sabre standpoint, there was too much hype. GMs may have been gun shy about giving Sabres too much especially with 3 no 1s next year. Oh well get ready to suffer for another year... This sucks.... best we can do is enjoy the pain.
  18. Really, the Sabres the only ones. What do you call what Edmonton has done the last couple of years. They admitted as such and their actions are even louder. Calgary has done it too though not as cleanly. I am sorry, this is disingenuous. That being said, the Sabres are obviously building a stronger team and unlike Edmonton won't be mired in the basement for too long. So this may effect Edmonton more than anyone else... one of those be careful what you wish for. Sabres could go back to 10th place team and do really well in the draft lottery now that Darcy is gone.
  19. Heckuv an interesting read, so I am now officially off the Reinhardt bandwagon and probably just jumped on the Bennett one. The other question is whether any of those lower rated forwards make it towards the back into the 1st round, or early 2nd for another Sabre pick. Except Goldobin, Sabres don't need a questionably motivated Russian to go along with Grigs. If I were considering a Russian to help motivate Grigs then I go after Barbashev. If the Sabres take Draisaitl then I assume they keeping Erhoff for another year to mentor the German makes sense. Hmm 12 hours to go.
  20. Don't be so sensitive... Take Reinhart and then make deals with the 3 number 2s using preferably Erhoff and some of those lame forwards to obtain more talented future assets any of those mentioned above. As Eleven said centers. How many times have people who play and know hockey stressed you build up the middle. Find talented centers. They can always be moved to wing.
  21. No can do, I have two family members mentally challenged and I play hockey as well as being a fan. The only way to put an end to your bullying (insult) is stand up to it call it out. If I was on the ice with you we could settle it. But fine, I am sensitive to that word, cut the crap. Obviously you must have some underlying emotional issue not to simply issue an apology and move on. Should I continue? Hmm Belgium next to and once part of France, so you might have well just surrender now.
  22. Actually, I think some sort of measuring stick could be applied by taking goals and assists (points) as a numerator and use goals against (+, -) as a denominator multiplied by minutes on the ice and I would bet that indicator would give you a good idea of successful. Datsyuk and Toews should rank pretty high. Really in today's day and age that guy can't figure out that word is inappropriate, especially when there are so many alternatives. If he insists on using that word, trust me I can be really insensitive and will respond in kind.
  23. I think Erhoff could be gone or Myers, but not both, combines with Stafford, Foligno and maybe Blues #1 next year for a holy mackerel deal for a high pick and a skilled forward. I get the sense from listening and reading Murray may have something up his sleeve. He is clearly enjoying the position he is in right now.
