Girgensons needs to pop his cherry soon. Ward is spearing Enroth in the nuts, and Girgs is looking down at the ice for his contact lens. -
Sabres All-Time Whipping Boys vs. 2013-2014 Sabres

Cyr, Krupp, Andreychuk, Turgeon, Hogue, Smehlik, Connolly, heck..Barrasso.....I think these 8 alone could win! -
Donnelly could play some defense though...he trends towards enforcer. And Kevin Maguire had a skillset. He was built like Barnaby or Kaleta, so it's hard to call him a goon. Although he did get traded for Jay Wells...

Does that make me Jessie's Handler?

Is there any chance that trades will be made before deadline?

Holy Mole-E??? In all honesty, it's 85% a new crew, so if an LA deal goes down it can easily be separate....although 97% of the scouting staff is the same........ If a big Kings trade happens, I will say who at least the Sabres WERE looking at in October, that even I said, NFW...... -
Right...Domi, Chris Nilan....they had talent. When I think of a goon for the Sabres, it is someone who didn't have enough talent to play in the NHL, but in their time there, managed to contribute no offense, and plenty of fights and penalty minutes. Guys like Playfair and Korab could play...even someone like Boughner to an extent. Goons....Steve Dykstra, Bob Halkidis, Brad Miller....average 3-5 penalty minutes a game, get called up in a pinch or for a rivalry game....but really add nothing else.

That's hot... I'm good with this. Pettine did a nice job here, but you could tell from day 1 it was a pure stepping stone for him. When you get fired, you coach a little pissed, which is a good thing for a defense. Schwartz as a HC, no....like Greggo, as a coordinator, probably a good thing.

Murray has said you go free agency to put your team over the top. Pretty sure we are expecting another "off" year, but still want to make progress. I can see a 50/32 split with Enroth and another goalie...either way. I'm sure he'd be fine with a hot hand scenario. With Miller you know you are getting 15 games. At least if Halak or Holtby comes here...Enroth still has a chance to get the majority of the work. My guess is the Sabres do this in moving Miller, then go into FA or the trade market in 2 years to get a steadier name if nobody really takes hold of the #1.

This is my favorite line of thinking that always comes up no matter who the ex player is. Kassian has spent more time playing with Tom Sestito than anyone named Sedin. Meanwhile....on the homefront, didn't we have a guy named Vanek that was attached to Hodgson's hip most of his time here? That's what's exciting....he's put up 2 highlight reel goals the past few weeks and they just started giving him some decent minutes with better players. If the lightbulb is on for real, it is go time. He has gotten hot in the past before, but from everything I see and read, the Canucks players love him and Torts is coming to accept he is a bit of a goofball, but has him focusing on certain things. That's the only question I have...how long does it take for him to "not think" and be able to multitask. That will be the difference of him either being a 10-20 goal a year guy, or a real star.

That's pretty much it for me. Sure I'd move them, but those are the only 2 guys I know who have the talent and battle to lead to an eventual Cup. All this Ottawa talk...I would think if I were Murray, the last team I would make my first trade with is Ottawa. You want to show you wear big boy pants now, so running back home first thing doesn't really show that. If they could get Lazar somehow, I'd go giddy. -
