    I think that speaks well of your sister. I'm not sure the average kid looks at it that way. It sets some up for a hard landing when they reach their teens and have to socially fly on their own. I'm all for praising hard work and accomplishment. I just remember school being a timeclock you punched from year to year. Have fun with your friends, do your work, go home and play outside....then go bonkers over the summer and repeat. It isn't the kids' fault.

    Not......gonna........say it...... It's the non-stop pounding on social media with every little detail. "Moving Up Day!!!" WTF is that? I understand for some kids it is an accomplishment at any grade....but the whole school thing is like giving everyone a trophy in sports, but worse. How do you expect anyone to aim high and set goals when we treat these kids like a puppy who just made a poopie outside for every little thing they do. OK...to make it awesome, I can't remember a ceremony in kindergarten. I do remember my 25yo teacher with awesome cans, bending over to give me a hug on the last day. So I guess you can say there were cupcakes.....

    You know what's awesome? Not that long ago we used to go to school and made it all the way to Grade 12 before there was a sniff of a ceremony or accomplishment or heck, even a cupcake. The Russians and Chinese are going to take this country......holy-F.........

    I'm willing to wheel you and PA around the Buffalo Zoo sometime. We can go to the Petting Zoo where they station the young interns. I don't think you can pet the interns, but if terminal, I'm willing to test that defense.....

    I agree...in the past I would preach high-end grit because the rest of the team was puss and you needed you best players to set the example. It looks like Murray values size/grit in numbers, so you will have critical mass and can supplement high end skill that will be protected.

    It's nice to trust the GM for once. I couldn't have told you who Nick Deslauriers was last year if you had a gun to my head and I was on LSD. Now...he's one of 4 or 5 guys who actually gave a crap when there was nothing to play for, and has the body and enough skill to play in the league over time, even if it is on the 3rd line at best.

    We are men.....we are evolved from cavemen.....you gave the vocal cue "protein component"......we had no choice but to instinctively respond. At least the others were classy enough to wait on the caveman with the highest strikeout rate to come in and take the swing. It was a knock on me... I love paella....it's sort of like Gumbo.....just go for it. Sorry Bio..... :(

    I really don't follow juniors....it just seems that say guys eligible for the draft this year....if they had similar numbers to last year, their stock plummets. Guys in the fringe 1st last year end up projected 3rd and 4th this year.

    Jagr and Forseburg in their prime were as good as it got with that. I can't see calling a guy Jagr unless he is THE GOODS. People have seen him play for 3 decades, so they forget that 4 or 5 year span where he carried Mario.

    I'm just trying to project the top 4 guys into what they might become. It's not perfect because Ekblad probably has the potential to be more physical than Murphy, and Reinhart might be a more natural goal scorer than Oates, but to me...that is the decision process in looking at them.
