Awwwwwww Yeahhhhhh....... Latvia had a beautiful system for their talent. They clogged and gave up shots but sludged the front so no good rebounds were available. Then on transition they just pushed with numbers all the way and had a drop pass in effect while trying to get traffic in front. It was simple but perfect considering the odds. They were certainly not a team running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

;) I had this conversation with probably the smartest all-around person I know last night who is a top MD. At least the Gluten part. Humans are pretty much allergic to any foreign substance. Salt and wheat have been the basis of survival for millennia. It's a fad.

Good point. To make it relevant, when a Commie Liberal who is "Gluten Intolerant" wants to go out to dinner and shows up in their Prius to order the kale salad, I will roll up in a Tahoe with the A/C cranking and all the windows open, then order a half dozen Hefenweiz to go with my breaded veal and loaded baked potato.

If we had dark socks for gym class, we would be docked as an absence. The theory is the dark dye would be more apt to run and clog your pores. Gyms being bacteria laden with all the sweat, easy for a clogged pimple to turn into infection. I was just goofing more than anything, but that was a thing back in the day.

Sully is actually a solid columnist and a bright guy. Bucky is a B+ in my opinion, and better than you get in a lot of places. Nobody wants to dig for the REAL stuff. People are too busy playing on Twitter, or don't want to rock the boat. I mean, I know how much I love digging for truth....and it's not my job when it comes to sports. Sadly I do it for hobby. I don't think anyone is talking about this particular blurb....they are talking Buffalo Sports Media in general terms, not having any specific knowledge of transactions ahead of time and speculating like everyone else. My point is, you live in a small city with 1/1000 the wealth and resources of some of the spots that have media with more pull. The shutting out of the Buffalo News by both of the past 2 owners is a valid point, but you are only going to get a certain level of Gumshoe at $48,000 a year.

Which cities? What are their franchise values? What is their median income? What is their real estate market? If you are working the sports beat in Buffalo, it's like anything else. You max out at a lower level.

Also relevant when speaking of the ladies in the 300 level.....

The problem is, the Sabres organization themselves keeps those for the national guys, quid pro quo. Back in the day, Jim Kelley and crew would be on year 25 of building sources and info the old fashioned way....having drinks at the bar on road trips, the telephone, riding the team charter....you didn't have this instant gratification circus of today. What can Hamilton or Bucky get you about Vancouver or St Louis in a timely fashion? Nothing. In 1986, it wasn't like that...and the national guys would have to wait 24 hours or a week to print, so they weren't the same assets. Now Ted Black can send an email to McKenzie at 9:43 am saying that interest is high in Tyler Myers...a tweet goes out from McKenzie at 9:48....then the likely suspects in relevant cities start retweeting and forming their own hypothesis like Tatar/Mantha for Myers...yada yada..... Meanwhile, maybe not 1 GM has called about Myers, but McKenzie just did the Sabres bidding. In return, when the Sabres actually do have a trade on the table, ted gives McKenzie a courtesy email so that he can look good. Society is a Sh!thole unfortunately, and the fans are wading in it with a pair of Crocs on.....
