You use the tag as a negotiating ploy. If you have to tag him, you do it. He's worth much closer to $9 million than $2 million. This way if you tag him, you overpay him $2 million for 1 year and buy 18 months to work on a contract. I don't know if the Bills would do so, but it is a tool. He's going to get +/- $7 million in the open market.

I think that's what the Bills are banking on. Say they offered 5 years $32 million October 1st and Stevie wanted 5 for 45. Too much room to close through the season. If they want to keep apart, sign him for 1 year at 9, and you can work on an extension after that. He's a really nice receiver and 7 and change a year is fair. I can see him signing a 5 for 38 sort of deal....be it after a tag or before.

I love it when we can spit out Darcy-style Excel spreadsheets......

That's funny....because since 1999 when the Bills last were in the playoffs....Lindy Ruff has won a total of 5 playoff series. Boston has won 4 since April of this year......... My complaint? Homers
-
Yep...he tried driving it from the 20 and it was like topping a drive on the golf course and watching it go 40 yards instead of 200+. That's why Stevie is the goat. Not much class at all yesterday.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TChp3L1kZ4o The kid is 9! It gets going a little after a minute.

They would get it on the Buf 45 out of bounds. Stevie deserves to be hammered for the penalty and drop. He's battled through a groin and a shoulder though. It would have been nice to have 1 more home game worth a salt.

Turkey Drumsticks.......you need to earn them. They are like wearing a letter on a hockey team. If you are in charge of preparing the turkey....and you chop up all the dark meat including the drumsticks instead of keeping them whole....you need to be shot. If you let your 6 year old snot-nosed kid take a drumstick knowing full well he is going to take 2 bites then spit it out....you need to be shot. I will defer a drumstick to a masculine elder, but all this organic whole foods bullshite has ruined our food culture. Danny Gare....drumstick. Pominville.....white meat, hold the gravy. Miller.....tofurkey.

Sabres scrub Cliff Benson being the Financial Chairman of Second Mile from his biography. Benson Bio But it still shows up in the news release. Benson Hire -
I would trade technicals, but always would invest for long term on fundimentals. If you have a bias for or against something, that's when technicals can make you a lot of money because you trade with confidence.
-
Since Carp has been doing these charts, all I am doing is giving a technical look into what I see on the chart, much like a stock or any other asset you can trade. Over the years the Sabres hold up VERY well to that. When you see something moving sideways....a good rule is the longer it does so, the more of a chance it goes up or down big once it stops going sideways. This has nothing whatsoever to do with actual on ice actions. It's funny, but you'd be surprised about how many trillions of dollars change hands this way.
-
Ok...taking a shot here. Sabres are about to go on a run, one way or the other. The Boston game is even bigger since on a technical basis, if they lose, it looks like they can go and lose another 3of4 or 4of5...something in that range. If they win, then win the next, they could go on the same sort of upswing. If they just bob up and down for a while, when they finally go on a streak it will be violent....like 8of9 in one direction or the other. Don't lose this Boston game.

I will be more interested to see who the FBI puts in charge of the investigation for the FBI. Penn St. originally wanted to put in a guy from Merck who was on the school board and his wife is on the Second Mile board.....WTF? -
He's getting paid like an average starting QB. I'm ok. It really seems like they spit the bit today, and I am disappointed. I thought these guys would scrap no matter what. I know a lot of guys are banged up, but they looked defeated even in the 1st. Kelsay was trying to lead out there. He knew it was today or never most likely. Moorman has been pretty average. Today he had little hang time on a consistant basis. They need to go to a 4-3 next year and get all these guys back where they belong. A healthy Kelsay-Williams-Dareus-Edwards with Spencer Johnson back inside as backup and Barnett patrolling the middle is a solid group. The DB's can be fine. Sign a OLB and an OL in free agency. The only blessing about the sputter here is that Stevie Johnson might come in closer to the Bills number instead of signing him after the hot start. Spiller at the goaline was a travesty.

As now will I.

When I lived in Coconut Grove in Miami, there was a Miami Subs shop that had a bottle on the menu and in the case ready to go. It was great looking at the board and seeing, 6" Turkey $3.99.....Curley Fries $2.39.....Dom Perignon $199.99
-
I'll admit that was good. I can't even report her either.

Interesting observation. Maybe it has to do with the fact that Regier and Ruff were hired the day I hit puberty. Think about that one folks. You pretty much had to be born in the Carter administration or before to have known ANYTHING else but Regier/Ruff as a Sabres fan. You know what's F'n Fantastic? Math skills!

And to think your name references a movie based on the Bible. You might want to read a few of those chapters. -
Sounds like code for Chz's couple of consecutive "lady days" each month.

Thanks boys for getting to the heart of the matter. I really do get along with everyone on here in one way or another. It is fair for you to call me out if I tiptoe on the wrong side of the tightrope, and at the same time I will call you out when you are trying to distract from a valid point at hand. I understand full well I can think out of the box at times, but the last freaking thing I am going to do is play around with something this sick and serious. The Buffalo News guys are hot under the collar that both Pegula talked to TSN, and said nothing whatsoever about Benson or any individuals other than JoePa. Terry Pegula is one of the best things that has happened to the city in ages. I have seen the down-home actions of his family in action at a few events and I love how the guy isn't afraid to make jokes about non-PC stuff (throw out the Rowdy Canadiens from the arena, Oh..Lindy drinks?, etc.). Anyone that shows up to a press conference in shorts and has his dog running around is my kind of guy. I have no doubt he is full of passion and loyalty, and even if he did know of what was going on....his loyalty and appreciation was so deep it is possible he didn't mind the risk of trying to jumpstart the hockey program. It would just be nice if he said something like that. If his right hand man Benson didn't tell him though....what the heck is he still doing on the Sabres? This Syracuse thing now. Jeez. Not even a Jesuit school in the mix yet -
Way to be guys....nice to see some stories and support for X-Checking. Cross...I can't have kids naturally. I had testicular cancer and froze my sperm before any treatment. When I did so I learned I had sperm, but not enough to get someone pregnant. If I want a child, I have to do the petri-dish route, which is not an easy decision for me to make if it gets to that point. Adoption is a fine route in my opinion. Not to seem slight, but I look at it sort of like rescuing a dog from the pound instead of paying hundreds of dollars for a purebred. All children are innocents, and if you can enrich the life of a little one and have unconditional love instead of focusing on a child having your genes....then I think you do everyone a service. My cousins adopted children from Poland. They worked through an agency in the US and the kids are so loving that I don't care who they were born from...they are my cousins. Only problem is I have to buy them new Bills jerseys for Christmas because I gave them Posluszny jerseys a few years ago. Fitzpatrick doesn't exactaly ring Polish, so I have to work on it.....

Just like I don't think Lucic, Myers or anyone other than an obvious assault with a weapon should be suspended because the NHL is supposed to be played by big boys.....I only quoted you to say I expect us to all be big boys here as well. When a gang of posters constantly gang up and ACCUSE me of ACCUSING, then that is trying to stifle the free flow of ideas and exchange of information. I respect your intellect as well and your old school viewpoints on many things. I will be the first to admit I can whoop things up in regards to the Sabres, but this is not good stuff. I was careful in even reporting what was being said out in the mainstream media and only listed them once, surprise!, I was accused of libel. I even took the view of many to heart and shut up about the management, coaching, and actual play of this team as the regulars know my view all too well. I think you can admit the Boston game and aftermath is a black swan that deserved comment. This crap is too serious. If everyone has their house in order, then Sabrenation should come out unscathed.
