  1. I hear it's an olympic size playing surface.
  2. It's his off the ice life. He is a vocal and active Christian who is well documented for his beliefs and works of charity. Pegula was able to convince Regehr and I think Doan would find the same reasons about Buffalo appealing. Teppo is here as well and can put in a few words since he knows him. He really is a Pegula posterboy. Tough and no-nonsense on the ice, and driven off it. No source, just an educated guess.
  3. I predict a big Sabres trade this weekend. Pegula wants Doan. We know he has the money, and I think Doan can be convinced that Buffalo is the type of city he would enjoy and that you could raise a family in if they wanted to move. But the one thing that he can't be convinced of is that this team is a Cup contender. Ott was a nice signal they are looking for playoff performers to add to their mini-stick pretty boys, but if Pegula wants Doan as bad as I am assuming he does, we need to get a #1 type of center in here, or at least move some youth and numbers for an established scorer. Don't be shocked if Myers needs to be moved. Maybe you get Getzlaf here then. You still have McNabb. If Myers is a no-go....you need to move Ennis and McNabb most likely in a deal for a legit #2+ center. Doan is the posterboy of what Pegula values in a person. He's pretty much a posterboy for what the Sabres need as well. If he does leave Phoenix, Buffalo has just as good a shot as anyone, if they show him the goods.
  4. Mason Raymond is a Darcy type of player. More of what the Sabres DON'T need.
  5. You seem so negative about things though.....have some patience........I do.
  6. I'm going to do my Ruff translation of all this 1) Pegula loves Lindy because he remembers him as a player 2) For as much public support as he gave Regier, Pegula wasn't happy with being embarassed and the makeup of the team last year 3) Regier is under orders to make drastic changes in bringing in size, toughness, and "name" players 4) Lindy conveyed this to Eleven at their latest scotch swilling and is scared to poop that he is going to have to deal with Ott/Doan/Getzlaf and Regehr in the same locker room and won't be able to mold his precious babies like he has had free reign to do the past 5 years. 5)If Lindy leaves town, Eleven needs to make an in with Wally Backman
  7. FX.....10PM I think. It has a lot of good B-level sit-com actors and Charlie Sheen is always likable. He was making out with Miller's wife last night. On camera...at least.
  8. Anyone watch Anger Management last night? If there is ANY truth to the rumors Miller was upset because he wanted to be close to his wife.......we are in deep doo-doo. The show is very good, and it is a ratings hit......and his wife was making out with Charlie Sheen and is the sex symbol in the show. She may be worth more than him in 5 years.
  9. How about Steve Ott and Morrow for Roy and Lieno
  10. Horsey Sauce.....yummy
  11. Zigomanis.....oh...wait.....
  12. I really like Ray. He is a good dude and has insight....but he is good at adding comic relief and actually made Neal more tolerable because they could goof on each other. My favorite part of the broadcast is Ray/Neale/Robitaille at intermission. THAT'S what hockey is all about. Three guys who could finish off a keg over the weekend and both physically and verbally slap you silly if you are a dunce.
  13. I'm more than a little worried that Ray will flop at color. He was good at adding nuggets from ice level, but he seems best at "feel" and goofing around.....not sure technical color is his best fit.
  14. Kim Pegula as ice girl Kim Pegula as ice girl Kim Pegula as ice girl Kim Pegula as ice girl Kim Pegula as ice girl Kim Pegula as ice girl Kim Pegula as ice girl Kim Pegula as ice girl Kim Pegula as ice girl Kim Pegula as ice girl Kim Pegula as ice girl Kim Pegula as ice girl
  15. Mega Dittos to you my good sir....
  16. Too bad nobody bet me. Rangers lose Prust and Mitchell.....bring in Asham and Pyatt. I really like that team.
  17. That is the wildcard. Whether pushed or not, Darcy is admitting in public that he has built his team the wrong way, and is trying to compensate for that. I can respect that. Devine came out and said until further notice, don't expect any more Ennis/Gerbe/Roy types to be added....get size and physicality. All will be forgiven if Darcy can follow through on the draft and this Ott deal, and get Doan in here or another 2 top 9 forwards with heart and spunk. Girgensons is going to be here in a year or so. The team will have a chance to be balanced and possibly go deep into the playoffs IF HE FOLLOWS THROUGH. He drafted Foligno and Kassian and called it a day. Then he traded for Regher and called it a day. This is the first time we see a real trend......Draft big and grit, Trade for gritty skill, get a cheapo enforcer........ Now it is up to Lindy to stop micromanaging and let the leaders lead. If you have a Doan/Ott/Regehr in here......just let the boys play. Foligno/Weber/Gerbe....have that spunk too. Pominville/Ehrhoff are leaders in their own right. Lindy has to stop coaching scared.....and let the dogs lead the pack. He can sit on the sled, but the pack needs to act as one and take cues from the lead dogs up front. If they all need to take cues from the guy on the sled, the crappy ones in back are the ones that hear the most and the lead dogs eventually stop leading. They all need to follow through for real now though
  18. In before the delete
  19. Good point.....in reality, he probably plays where Doan is. I guess I am just so excited by the shipping out of soft letter wearers that I threw him under the bus. If we do go after Ryan, I can see him headed there. If I am to stay true to this rebuild and just wasted an asset....how about Stafford and Leopold to Calgary for Jay Bouwmeester? Even money swap with an overpaid D-man coming in for an overpaid forward and a 1 year vet. Leopold and Weber struggled together but someone like Bouwmeester would be a better partner for Weber. I am not a CBA wizz....thanks "it".
  20. Oooh...oooh...oooh.....Mr. Kotter......I think I have it! Sekera/Adam/3rd for Berglund Ennis/McNabb for Ryan....I think Darcy saying McNabb is headed for Rochester is to calm the masses if he is traded Doan...3 years $16 million...9/4/3 Vanek-Hodgson-Ryan Ott-Berglund-Doan Lieno-Grigorenko-Pominville Foligno-Girgensons-Tropp (Gerbe, McCormick) Myers-Regehr Ehrhoff-Sulzer Leopold-Weber (Brennan) Miller/Enroth $2 million for injuries, Psyck/Armia in the pipeline....if Girgs isn't ready, Scott or Ellis is up and Pardy in a pinch as callup. 2 lines that can run you through the boards and score.....a first line with snipers.....a 3rd line with close to 1st line talent if clicking. D weakens a bit but with more offensive forechecking and control of puck, less pressure on defense.
  21. 15% rumor.....85% proposal.....sort of like getting a center from Vancouver the night before the deadline. Only team that makes sense if you want a center. Berglund checks all the boxes.....center...tad bigger....hits a little....a Darcy European.....#2ish type coming off slight regression. He hits, he is a #1....misses, a #3.....much like Hodgson, Ennis if he stays, and Grigorenko. Steen could play center as well but really isn't big and is coming off a concussion. St Louis in great cap shape and could take a Sekera/Leopold with a Tropp or Adam. I don't see any other top 2 centers out there where a team wouldn't want one back in all probability. You could still make a run at Ryan then with Ennis and go into the season with Hodgson/Berglund/Grigs/Girgs/Ott/McCormick and hope the top 4 get it done by next year.
  22. Berglund from St Louis..........Sekera et al the other way.
  23. Winnipeg gets Jokinen Who always says they are thin at center?
  24. Good thing you weren't around in 1776
