  1. You are very versed in the specifics of the hockey world.....interesting stuff..... Yes, that is a bad rule.
  2. So true....yet...it is the reality of things.....
  3. 1 Steak and 5 ear of corn...........I don't like the analytics of that.
  4. Tampa in 6? We may need to get you into one of those early dementia studies.....
  5. On St. Louis.... Hitchcock is the biggest analytics guy in the league. He has admitted they have a service that feeds him information direct to the bench during the game.... Make of that what you will....
  6. Trust me....I know of the liver's skill!!! I hope it works out for him. He's a gamer.
  7. Blah!!! The Buffalo Sabres have no room for a 44 year old coach who averages 110 points over the course of a season and as many playoff series victories as Lindy Ruff had since 1998........
  8. No, it's Friedman saying the night of the draft lottery that he was a leading candidate for the Sabres job and that Murray knows him since it was pretty much a coinflip between DeBoer and McLean for the Ottawa job.
  9. Luke Richardson is 46 and has never coached an NHL game. Dan Bylsma is 44, has 250 wins, a Stanley Cup, coached international, played the game as well like Richardson but as a smaller guy, uses analytics, film breakdown, and positive reenforcement on his players, and his nickname is Disco Dan for the love of all that is holy. If you hire Richardson over Bylsma, you might as well open up a Sbarro next to Chef's too.......
  10. I was commenting more on the fact that he even mentioned the subject matter, yet went into graphic jokes. I think everything is fair game. More me bitching about getting banned myself. He had to know what he was doing though given the PC and social media world today. That was a pretty "bold" monologue given the setting.
  11. I think the North America NHL guys took it more seriously then, than they do the olympics now. I remember guys like Hawerchuk in the 80's, facewashing and stick swinging....it was really neat, especially in the summer when the only sport going on was baseball.
  12. Yeah.....that's pretty much what he said....
  13. Much like schools award Honorary Doctorates.................. I hereby propose that Louie CK gets an honorary permanent ban from Sabrespace after his SNL monologue........
  14. That was nuts....almost 90 degrees, then hail at the call to the post. You are right....you want to be up front near the rail or out 5-6 during a normal slop in my opinion. Pharoah is a small guy with cuppy feet which is perfect. A guy like Dortmund gets punished as he sinks more. Firing Line stumbles out of the gate, runs into the 7, never ran in it....yeah...toast. Pharoah is a very neat horse, but he is perfect for the slop. I would be happy if he won. The Zayats are truly passionate about their horses. I'm sure I will try to beat him, but it would be cool if he won.
  15. I'm doomed!!! Shaman Ghost just became the favorite for the Queen's Plate at 13-1. If he goes to Fort Erie for the Prince of Wales, I'll get a selfie with him.....
  16. Just boxed 3-10 I'm doomed.
  17. Thank the Union and the CBA. The World Cup in the middle of summer used to be awesome. I feel bad for the folks who didn't get to see it.
  18. She got stuck, but probably was 3rd anyway. If Darcy Regier is reading the board today, he is up $3.70 on my picks with his $2 to show each race. If Tim Murray is reading, he's out $200 keying my picks in exotics!
  19. Happen to catch who is in charge of the defensive coaching? :)
  20. Do you catch my drift? You were the leader of the "Pyatt gets to play with the Sedins" all those years. If this Eichel kid really is as good as everyone here is drooling about, the last thing you want to do is go chasing everybody he regularly plays with. If Pyatt can get 20 with D+H, then friggin Foligno should be able to get 20 withe Eichel, right?
  21. I did the exact same thing with the 9. 19-1 was too juicy. The 6 had me excited for a bit. I got lucky and had the 5 in the sprint the race before and a crazy $70+ double probable. Firing Line is 5-2 now. Baffert getting shut out on the weekend I think. He's 3-1 in the 7th. Going with Pletcher's #3 as a sneaky Belmont prep. Aaaand...baffert off the schnide
  22. Cool.... I decided to bet Firing Line 30 seconds after the Derby. He was on his left lead the whole stretch and had a big rest going in. Nobody mentioned the lead switch until a week after the race, but supposedly he is fine. Everyone is on him though at 3-1 or 7-2. On a value play I almost want Dortmund, but I'm playing Firing Line over Dortmund/Pharoah/mr.Z/Divining Rod. Playing a straight tri FL-Mr.Z-AP just to be greedy with a longshot in the middle. First race is 10:30AM on the turf. Huge overlay right now in #4 La Nina. The 8 horse is Wesley Ward's and an obvious.....but I think the 4 is a great value, even at 4-1. Race 4 Turf #3 Bluegrass Singer. His only turf race was soso, but he has been going in the hard races at longer distances and showing speed but backing up. His numbers on the dirt fit, and the distance and turf should move him up. He's 10-1 on the morning line but will be closer to 6-1 my guess. Race 6 turf A little 6-7 box. I will take the higher odds on a win play. Nothing special though. Race 8 turf #11 Causeworthy with #12. The 12 is a safe play but at low odds. The 11 has turf all over, but hasn't shown it in the past runs. New trainer trying him 1st time there and is in great form. Pimlico form held yesterday pretty well. Depending how the day is going, I could really like this exacta. Race 9 turf #11 Sistas Stroll. REALLY like this one. Tons of good horses and big trainers, so money will be all over. This one was going too long in my opinion, but always consistant. 2-2 on firm course way back and has nothing but soft since. Listed at 8-1.....I can see anywhere from 5-1 to 15-1 with this field so I will look at the totes and throw more in accordingly. Race 11 turf A little something on #3 Paddle Board. Hasn't run in 8 months but if ready to fire, great shot
  23. I've been reading on this board thousands of times over the years that elite, generational players make their linemates better. Pyatt or Kassian scoring.."Yeah, they got the Sedins". Brad Boyes...Moulson..."Tavares"...etc, etc. If that is true, then let's not cream about the first guy you see do well with Eichel, before you even draft him. Murray already signed his college buddy as a favor. If you start acquiring everything around him, you lose the actual utility of having him as a draft pick. Either Eichel is not that good......or you are picking up the parasites on the manna ray.
