Does the steering column start to shake once you approach 65? I tended to overlook that flaw in return for the potential of bench seat BJ's.

I love you too..... Here's the deal.......the owners have the power. If they decide to sit out a year, they lose $20 million disposable income on average. The thing is, most of them are worth hundreds of millions if not billions. A little insight into rich dudes......they HATE writing checks more than they do missing an opportunity. When you add the fact that most of these guys are 50's to 80's....the old school way is, you try and do what is best for both groups if it means you have more cash coming in. BUT......if that entity you are negotiating with tries to squeeze you....and you can outlast them 10-fold......F Them...and their mothers. I don't now what Fehr gets paid or how, but Eleven has said from the begining he is bad news. Right about now you have 50-100 guys who are marketable across the ocean, and 500 or so guys who want to see a paycheck. The owners moved in a decent manner it sounded, but when you don't do the same....expect a backlash. If I was an owner, I'd break the players' backs right now. Blow the union to shreds...watch the public cluster-f as players start to cry.....get Fehr out of there, and next year come back to the table with this offer as your best once again, if not better terms for the owners. And as far as Bettman goes....that's the most riled up I've seen him. At the very least there will be a week or two of stall here. They are right to take things off the table, and I am even more on the owners' side now. These players are clueless. It could be fun watching the Ellises and the McCormicks start to eat up the Millers and the Vaneks........the owners are in control now, and so much of the season is lost, it is in their best interest to eat a year and watch the kids kill each other.

Good ones today.... I once blew up a Vegas connection on helping host a bachelor party. We had 10 guys....8 of which probably read this board :P , but I got everyone comped at a good place for a few nights and casino rate the others with the idea that you gamble at the place you are at...especially in appreciation for $3500 in waived hotel rates. The host was old school and loved me. Hooked us up with free buffet, club passes. Only 1 of the guys got the message I was pounding in their heads and bunkered down with me. The rest sprinkled their wads about town in a touristy fashion. I had to appologize to my host and even though I knew he would still take care of me, I didn't have the nerve to ever go there again. I vouched and whiffed. Much shame. The strip club made up for it though. :w00t:

If the players get too greedy here, there will be no season. The owners have the power and it sounds like they have really moved on some issues. I know how I am in a negotiation in supposed good faith. If I move and someone else doesn't dance, then I want to put a sword through their jugular and I am done.......and if you try and come back to me to get my original terms, you can go F yourself. I imagine a lot of these owners have the same view. The made a solid effort. It's up to the players now. If they make the wrong move, I have no problem with the owners crushing them for the year.

Size 15, for future reference.......

You can tell there might be hockey over the past 24 hours. All the posters here are starting to get back on war footing.

Woohoo! So who are the Sabres centers to start the season? Ott-Ellis-McCormick-Brennan?

I don't think Pegula is going to get anywhere near the negotiating table. He is a fan as much as an owner and the other owners know that. Pegula's wealth came in short order. He had the land, but not the cash to develop it. Fracking got hot, and he made a deal with KKR.....who is pretty much the devil. The "network" was in full swing on this one....if Pegula wanted real $$.....he had to roll over and cut some other boys in on the deal. In less than a year his company went from being worth under $1 billion to almost $5 billion. He gave up 1/3 of the company for $300 million and KKR "just happened" to infuse the cash, and find a buyer for a $5 billion deal and close on it in a matter of months. Funny how things happen when certain people get involved.......anyway, yeah. Pegula's net worth was probably a few hundred million when Golisano bought the team.

Delete? Are you kidding? I just want to know who is going to center Bio and Chz? I'd pay at least $6 to see that line.

Taxing your 401k will be the least of your worries. I'd assume by the end of the decade, most retirement accounts will be forced to hold a hefty portion in US Treasuries. This Fiscal Cliff bologna is a dog and pony show. I'm with Sizzle....the whole world is a reality show.

I hope your pivot was greased.

Yeah, season 2 started November 6th......

I was talking to a friend with 4 minutes left and I said I cannot see why Belicheck keeps these guys in. I don't get it...he's a smart guy. If it is to run up the score, it really shows insecurity. I can't see a point differential tiebreaker being worth it. What's he doing? Running up stats for guys to get them in the Hall of Fame quicker?

It probably happened, but I can't recall. Although I did have "Tommy Salami" introduce himself to me in Indianapolis the year after getting arrested for having sex in the upper deck with his girlfriend.

I don't remember hearing about that. I've seen plenty of crazy stuff and have plenty of stories myself, but thankfully no deaths!

Maybe I would have liked it more if I waited to see it like I do almost everything else, but it was one of my 3 yearly PPV purchases. I watched the last 30 minutes or so the other day. It isn't bad, it isn't great. I am conflicted with the attempt to softcore copycat something like Slapshot while at the same time, pussifying the plot for the current nuetered moviegoing masses. I guess I wanted Tarantino and I got Kevin Smith. -
I was a great time and a little dangerous last night. all at the same time. On one hand it was like a giant singles bar with zero inhibitions from the average person drinking starting at 4pm. On the other hand, it led to a lot of fights, especially with tons of Dolphins gear in the stands. We had a nasty one near me to the point that a stranger handed over his 10yo kid to me on the other side of the aisle to shield. Hopefully the guy was just crocked and nobody else was involved. We don't need that black eye.

I hope it's a Gerbe jersey.

 Alright...actually Omaha Steaks are good. You need to search or wait out for the bargains. At the end of summer they usually have a blowout. Their Gourmet burgers are good....and about $1 and change a pop on clearance. Hotdogs sort of Nathan's-like, not bad. Their Filets wrapped in bacon are good. The chicken tenders are Italian style and good. You just sort of have to do the math on their deals......I wait until the filets are about $5 a pop for the 5oz. They flash freeze and are good for over a year. Get a nice free shipping deal and experiment.

Yep...Israel hasn't announced it, but reports are they are doing the same. Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt says if Israel goes forward with ground operation, they will not sit idle and watch. Israel says they are just starting. At least the US State dept. just came out and said Israel should defend itself. Problem is.....Obama supported Libya and Egypt overthrows....and now, "shocker", they are both about to "backfire"....at least at face value. I didn't see every word, but it seemed as if the matter just went unaddressed. The State Dept. has backed Israel though. I understand the Romney point, but if you don't think Bibi would like to flick Obama off his arm like a mosquito......Just way too much stuff going on way too fast right now.
-
Well Obama just had a press conference and not 1 mention of what is going on today.....this as Egypt just warned Israel and both sides pulled their guys out of each other's country. I'd say that speaks volumes.....and I think you do need to look at the rest of the post. A good portion of the military leadership structure in the Middle East has just been sh!tcanned in the matter of 2 weeks. Why is that? I'm looking for a comparison, other than Stalin.

1) + 4) One in the same..... 2) Since October 27th, we have 1) Head of CIA who is most respected military leader of the past decade, step down 2) Top General of war in Afghanastan pulled into mess and on ropes 3) Naval Commander of the Persian Gulf fleet forced out 4) Top General of African Command forces let go 5) Another General and Naval Commander removed for drinking and sexcapades Call me crazy, but they just slaughtered the entire central command of everything and anything having to do with the most volatile region in the world on the possible eve of a major operation by Israel, who knows full well they now are on their own with no friend in the White House. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/10/navy-replaces-admiral-leading-mideast-strike-group-because-of-ongoing-investigation/ http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/robbins-report/2012/oct/28/general-losing-his-job-over-benghazi/ http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2012/11/navy-ship-captain-fired-for-being-drunk-during-port-call-in-russia.html http://news.yahoo.com/army-general-pulled-rank-forced-sex-prosecutors-183323005.html 3) ;) Stay tuned...... 5) Not big yet, but with everything else going on there could be momentum behind the rablerousing 6) Russian satellites just happened to be down today at the time of the operation. Hmmnnn......coinqidink! Israel is going to move now. If you don't think there is the potential for everyone to take advantage of the situation, you may want to reassess.

Quick week in review since the election: 1) CIA in chaos 2) Multiple top military leaders removed or stepping down 3) Stock market down 5% 4) Major players hiding from Benghazi testimony 5) 700,000 citizens sign petition to secede 6) Israel announces start of WWIII on Twitter today
