On the news of Hackett... My guess is that Alex Smith will be the starting QB of the Buffalo Bills in 2013...AND don't be surprised to see Fitz stay on as #2. I don't have warm fuzzies. Listening to Maronne try and come across as everyones' pal reminded me of the mid 90's when I was stuck sitting through UB's management program. It makes sense Brandon would hire him. I have no clue as to his football ability, just profiling here. I understand Gailey didn't get it done, but this doesn't feel like a homerun chance. I am scared. I hope that they can take advantage of a decent roster and build upon the strengths of who is already here. In that case I understand the Hackett idea. Just....when you swing for the big one....don't choke up on the bat.

He healed from the surgery on his broken back that he played through for months? Now he has a groin? Hmmnn....Roy blows a knee, Sabres play him.....months later an "unrelated" hamstring/quad issue slows him for months. Gerbe has a broken back....Sabres play him....months later an "unrelated" groin issue pops up and slows him down. And we know the history with Connolly, 37 sports hernias misdiagnosed, (Kalinin, Gaustad, Briere, Dumont, etc.), Tallinder....and now Myers with his 3rd joint injury in as many years. Maybe some day the Sabres will hire a few people who have heard this song.....and we won't see guys constantly waste seasons and parts of seasons.

He got worse and worse and by the end of the year had a hard time doing anything. Lockout comes.....he decides to go to his own doctors. Turns out he had a broken back with multiple vert involved from what I have heard.
