  1. Orr drilled him in the sternum and dropped him. Scott gave him a few body shots earlier and he got his.....that's why he was laughing. All was fair.
  2. Canada has the Jonas Enroth of militaries..... It was either a shot at the military, or saying he looked like a DIsney Characture of Mr. Bean.....
  3. I just want to hug the little guy.... No wonder Canada hasn't won a war in 2 centuries.....
  4. The lockout has balanced the outlooks.....I'm praising Stafford and Chz is tempering expectations. Just beat these a-holes tonight..... And happy birthday.
  5. Stafford is taller than Hartnell. Hartnell is built like Gerbe though....firehydrant. Stafford isn't widebodied, but he has strong skating legs and is big enough to play a decent power roll. He hasn't. I understand that....which is why I was happy to see yesterday right off the bat. I didn't expect him to come close to knocking Hartnell out, but once you start dictating instead of running......you gain control. Even if you can't make a fool of the other guy. Barnaby made a living at at. Staff also threw an elbow at the whistle to start the thing I think. It shows me he knows what the deal is and what needs to be done this year. Does he and the team have the courage and focus to be doing it game #30 and not game #1?........we will see. But it was a dandy of a start. Hartnell is nuts, and you can give me him, Callahan, Lucic, and 17 AHL'rs and I can get you to the playoffs..... Which is why what Stafford did yesterday sends a signal. A 1 game signal. I'd like to see someone else step up tonight. Not Scott or Ott....maybe Myers, or Sekera......nothing stupid. Let's see if Lindy understands the momentum that can be built here and if these guys can feed off an out of character move. I'm trying to stay positive here! :P
  6. Not me. Stafford has the exact same skillset as Hartnell. He just never uses it. I'm proud he stood up and if I see him in Wegmans today I will give him an ass-tap. The Foligno, "Lindy-System" watch has begun...... :)
  7. That's why we have Laundromats.......
  8. I was SHOCKED how slow the game was. Save this game on DVR then compare it to the same 2 teams in March.
  9. You have to throw out these first 5 games or so.....it was like watching women's college hockey. Anyway...Drew Stafford....way to be bud. If you have that same attitude through game 30, you will have earned your stripes. Nice to see Lindy use Ott in all situations......not nice to see Hecht on the first line within 25 minutes of the season. Hodgson...nice, but these games are so freaking slow and sloppy that some of the guys playing before this have an advantage. However good stuff. Nice way to start the year....
  10. You're still not sticking a thumb up my ###!
  11. God Bless America......God Bless the youth of America.....and God Bless the Buffalo Sabres...... I do appreciate the manipulation of technology. I was watching a special on Bill Belichick today and got a kick out of how he couldn't figure out how to set the clock in his car. I wanted to hug him.....
  12. Three coins....in the..foouun..taaain.....
  13. Because only 12,000 seats need to be sold to sellout the season................
  14. The good news is this half of a season fits perfectly for him to be exposed by the end of the 2016 season.
  15. I know you're not a strict bible follower, but according to the book of Daniel....I'm guessing 7 years.
  16. I'm glad they extended Darcy. I don't have the petty cash for Sabres tickets right now and don't need to be tempted.....
  17. Pears are underrated. They are the Dixon Ward of fruit......
  18. thanks damn "system" Haha! Beat me to it!
  19. He's not built normal, no matter what. From his combine tapes, his measurements were borderline. Chara isn't exactally the picture of conformation either, but he has much more mass to him. Myers doesn't look as if he can get anywhere near that with his chest and shoulder build. As long as his aorta doesn't burst during a game, all is well! That's what clued me in on it...the articles about mysterious fatigue in the Buffalo News. He's got the neck, the joint issues, etc.....but if he really does have a health issue, the cardiac/circulatory thing would be the real impact. I can't say anything will happen, but it is on my radar for sure.
  20. Was Brennan traded? Not on Sabres roster listing.
  21. I think they are in deep. My guess is they finish between 9th and 13th. Competition should be better in the Southeast this year. I can see those teams finishing within 6 or 7 points of each other. I like Winnipeg and Washington for the playoffs and you have to expect slight improvement from Tampa who disappointed and Carolina who bolstered their production potential. Would not be shocked at all to see the Sabres finish with a few less points than that entire division. The Atlantic has 3 clear cut teams much better than Buffalo and New Jersey is decent. The Rangers should eat up this schedule format. Boston is balanced and deep up front, and they have Chara who eats minutes. Rask is a little bit of a question, but it would probably take a fluke for them not to win the division. Ottawa and Buffalo are similar in talent structure, so they are right there in the playoff hunt. Montreal is the team I am expecting to surprise on the back of Price. I think that kid will thrive with the workload as opposed to some others out there. They may only win games 2-1 and 3-2....but I predict he will be Vezina quality. Toronto is Toronto but they do have some talent and seem to put in the effort. The games are going to come fast and furious. These guys haven't been hitting anyone for close to 9 months. The games mean almost twice as much so you can expect more intensity and physical play once everyone gets their sea legs under them. This all bodes poorly for Buffalo. Unless Lindy can get Enroth in net every 4th game, there is zero chance at a Cup run in my opinion. The small and passive nature of the majority of skill players will be a detriment. Ott can only do so much on his own. Foligno was projected as a future 3rd or 4th liner at this point last year. I still want to see a big enough set of games from him before I believe he is the real deal. You can only score so many goals off your ass...but I appreciate them nonetheless. This will be a crucial time for Tyler Myers. Either the kid steps up, or it's time to stop talking about being a "franchise" defenseman. If he goes down to another injury, then it's also time to accept he is not a genetically correct being and you are lucky to get a career out of him. 4 times in 3 years with ankle/wrist injuries is painting to be a little more than a fluke. In the East: 1)NYR 2)BOS 3)WIN 4)PIT 5)NJ 6)PHI 7)MON 8)WAS Players for the Sabres I expect to lead the way with good years: Ehrhoff, Vanek, Stafford (yes you read that correctly) Players fans will be wondering WTF happened: Hodgson, Foligno Who will get the blame?: Lindy, Myers, Miller
  22. Here's my prediction......someone please hold me to it......if Ennis, Hodgson, Grigs and Hecht are your 4 centers.......by game 20, 3 of the 4 will have missed games due to injury and at least 2 will be hurt for 3 consecutive games minnimum.
  23. I can watch this all day.....If it was 4 hours long....I'd do it.
