That was a great and efficient decision. 1 decision in 30,000 that have been made over the past 6 years. I loved it. That particular decision.

That was great stuff.....Miller actually made me clap after that flury of 3 or 4 big saves..... Awesome....they certainly earned a mulligan for the start with this one. When Lindy called the TO, I almost creamed my pants. That's the way to do it. I promise no negativity for at least 3 games. :P They deserve it. -
I'm still running Lotus on an 8088......just typing in the name Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre causes Windows to freeze for 30 seconds.

I'm sure the same psychology is used by prostitutes in "taking the money" as it is used by the Sabres and fans in, "taking the points". Yet somehow some women find true love and happiness......and some hockey teams find a Stanley Cup and a full roster of post-pubecent males..... -

All this hype is why they needed to win against Toronto. For a team that overthinks stuff on their best night, now you have to try and balance winning a game without looking like a North American laughingstock once again. Let's see what Miller does. He was overly active in trying to play pucks against Washington and to a lesser extent Toronto. -
You're right. What I should say is "soft" Callahan is undersized.

Hodgson IS skating away from the play a lot harder this year. Last year he floated out there for the most part. You make a good point. This thread is just fun, because it brings so much of what we have all debated about together into one transaction and followthrough: On my end: Darcy loves undersized skill guys Lindy tries to break down physical and emotional players into robots Sabres can't develop a physical forward Sabres trade for monotone nice guy and trade away personality Sabres need a center but go and get another undersized one to be 1+2 Foligno was on fire when playing on instinct but has regressed this year into the Lindy System Vancouver pickpockets all the Sabres big men. Kassian, Torres, Pyatt, Bernier, Mancari Sabres fans claim great trade after 2 games and Gary Roberts Technical School of Hair Design Sabres record and personality of play seemingly not much different than past 6 years That's why this is fun right now. We should all know that in fairness it will be years before we know the results....but it doesn't stop anyone from predicting the results given history and current importance of each and every game this season.
-
15% through the season, Kassian is outscoring the entire 2nd-4th lines of the Sabres.....which happens to include Foligno.

Well...there's a shock. Enjoy Quebec Doaner......

GAME DISCUSSION THREAD GDT: Leafs at Sabres (7:00PM 1-29-2013)

That's ironic....the frontal lobe is usually being removed by Lindy in full by the time they reach their mid-twenties..... literal..or figurative..... -

In all seriousness....he was a cop, and used to work detail at the Aud for the Sabres for a few years. He hated sports because he related it to work. In warmups he would be down between the locker rooms where the cages were set up near the zamboni. The guys in warmups used to aim for his head on purpose at times to get him to jump. Rick Martin came to him one day and gave him a stick autographed by the whole team and they laughed about what a good sport he was. Of course this was right before I was born, so I know of only the story and not the lumber. Fun little tidbit...

Pegula's management philosophy coming into focus
Ghost of Dwight Drane replied to Stoner's topic in Archive
Again....I'd go to the grave for a man like Chan Gailey. Lindy has many of the same attributes and I generally like him as a person. He has some major mental baggage though that comes out on his players. Regier should be a character on The Office. -
You have yourself a late-afternoon pooper. Congrats! Should free up the bathroom for you in the mornings.....

Pegula's management philosophy coming into focus
Ghost of Dwight Drane replied to Stoner's topic in Archive
I'm ready to go nuts on them as well. I like Whaley working with Nix, but this hiring of coaches and philosophy is MBA to the core. The reason I loved Chan so much is that he is a man's man. He shoots from the hip, trusts his guys and backs them, and it didn't work. Now you bring in a set of coaches who all started as Quality Management coaches.....are you freaking kidding me? I want NYPD on my football team....not Amherst cops. Scares the bejeebers out of me. I think Alex Smith will be your QB, and there is tons of young talent....so I hope this works. At least Chan had the nads to say he had to go. If it doesn't work, you need to go. Sort of like the last 6 years under Ruff and Regier. I've used up my quota of testicle references. -
Pegula's management philosophy coming into focus
Ghost of Dwight Drane replied to Stoner's topic in Archive
Understood...however someone just posted a video of the Pegula girls the other day saying how TP was watching the playoffs and really wanted to get Ehrhoff and told them he was going to sign him. Now...was he a decent option...sure....is he ok to have, sure.....but the point remains, if someone is going to roll over for pennypinchers....the certainly will roll over for cushy, feel-good, spenders. I'm not going to keep harping, the games are too important. Either they show some gumption and start winning, or if they tailspin, the fanbase will almost have to revolt at this point. The Regier extension is just crazy at this point. Thank you very much! -
Pegula's management philosophy coming into focus

Then I will go back to the point I made when Pegula first decided to keep Regier on... Once a PUPPET....always a PUPPET. Maybe T-Pegs enjoys watching playoff games and looking for pending UFA's....then telling his kids he's going to go sign them...then he signs them. You can't have it both ways.....either Regier is responsible for previous failure, or if he isn't, he is a proven weak-skinned figurehead who is willing to do anything to keep a job....which would include letting his owner de-facto run the show. The is A LOT to be scared about for a realistic fanbase. And i hate even getting back into it.....but it's just so obvious this franchise is not efficient...and it stinks that one of the 2 major forms of my entertainment have sucked donkey water for close to a decade and nobody can build enough momentum to do something about it.
