  1. No way. The schedule is different this year....all these games in a short amount of time is going to blow these guys to bits....especially with Enroth looking near worthless. The needed to start fast. I'd put cash down that they don't get more than 12 points their last 12 games.
  2. You have no idea what is going on under that divider........"We are Penn St.!!!"
  3. Now you know how some of us have felt for the past 6 years......
  4. The fanbase is officially depressed.....because not one person here riffed with you on this. Yikes!
  5. Good to see Cody win one. Scott has gotten KO'd twice now....once to the sternum and once to the throat/chin. That is a bit disturbing. Maybe the book is out he has so much surface area...just go and connect with SOMETHING!
  6. If your better half is a fan of a division rival, there is no excuse for not having to use copious amounts of Listeriene and Clorox Cleanup, hours after the game........
  7. Me as well.... You guys HAVE to do better than that! Really.......
  8. There are 50 high end centers currently in the league. There are maybe 5 very good to elite power forwards.... Darcy has somehow managed not to have a beat on any of them. And I think the 2010 US Olympic team was proof of how you can build a team without many pretty-boys.
  9. There have been dozens if not hundreds of "high end" centers the past 3 decades if you want to count Hodgson or Ennis as that. Heck....who have the Sabres had? Bert, Turgeon, LaFontaine, Hawerchuk, Gilmore (whoops...nevermind!...Lindy made him a winger)..... How many rugged forwards who could score? Gare? And he was a pound for pound guy...not a true physical find. Kassian is a Golden Ticket to Willy Wonka's factory. Hodgson is a case of Wonka Bars 3 months after the contest expired.... I'm bringing these analogies until you figure it out!!!
  10. If someone wants a project....maybe go over the past 6 seasons and see how many games total each of the teams in the nhl was out of a playoff spot. Considering the Sabres snuck in at the last second....I'm willing to bet they are in the bottom 7 or 8 teams.....and probably every coach and almost every GM has been fired from those other teams.
  11. Why am I picturing Ted Black ordering 500 dozen organic, farm-fresh eggs....which the Sabres interns spend the morning cracking, beating, and throwing into a whirlpool, only for Pegula to come in and bathe in it...then rolling around on a carpet full of catnip before calling Sabretooth into the office?
  12. No...those are the Sabres entire 2nd, 3rd and 4th lines for the entire season....including Foligno, Stafford and Ennis who some people considered the #1 line coming into the year. Foligno himself was given as a reason to let Kassian go. Neely, Gillies, Shannahan, Bertuzzi.....think again..... Hodgson has improved since last year and I actually like his skillset and attitude this year. Kassian though also has bloddied his 2 opponents in fights, and has the skill to play on the 1st line and protect much like the fellas I just mentioned.
  13. Sort of like this? If the faithful keep jumping on the fire-everybody bandwagon....and it happens....I will dance this with Ted Black in the outfit of his choice......
  14. And the reason I am so quick to point out Kassian's success is 2-fold. The majority here were happy with the trade at the time....many dismissed Kassian as a failure....and many dismissed the idea that Ruff was the problem as to why someone like Kassian couldn't play his game here. As much as I like Foligno, many here also felt he was better than Kassian and made him expendable. You had the anti-venom in your hand.....the one thing that has been missing for pretty much decades.....and you let it go. If Cody Hodgson and Zack Kassian both reach their ceilings.....I can name you 100 guys over the past 30 years that are as good as Hodgson.....I can name you maybe 5-10 as good as Kassian. THAT....is the problem with what happened, and why those who don't trust the GM and Coach to evaluate and nurture his skillset properly, will point this out as the Sabres seem to continue to float in their own cespool.
  15. Sorry....I guess I'm bad at counting.....sort of like Lindy in the last 10 seconds of a game in the nation's capital...... :P
  16. Could you not have traded Stafford and Sekera? Again....the fatal flaw of this team was made even worse with this trade. People gave up on Kassian after a few dozen games. They wanted to dismiss the Ruff factor and seem to believe the need for another monotone, skilled, slight of build fella was what this team needed. Hodgson looks good this year. But it's like bartering in the Wild West.......you were low on water to begin with, and you just traded away the rest of your water for a new cover to your wagon. Great.....now it will take you 10 days instead of 5 to dehydrate to death because the cover will protect you from the sun. A smart person would see that you needed more water...and hence who cares how hot it gets....you will always survive. Darcy's driving the covered wagon of skeletons.......
  17. I had him and Alex Smith targeted as the Bills' next QB. Baltimore was questioning him and if he could get them to the next level. looks like Smith is our best and maybe only solid option who would be an upgrade with experience.....
  18. Kassian: 9 games 5 goals Foligno, Ennis, Stafford, Hecht, Ott, Grigorenko, Kaleta, Gerbe, Scott, McCormick, Ellis 82 games....5 goals Vancouver: Leading their division Buffalo: Last in their division 20% of the way through the season....... You can have the prettiest face, and hottest rack in the sorrority......but if you have a heart defect, you end up dead. We traded away our mitral valve for a tummy tuck and botox........
  19. I am soooo with Eleven on this one. I went to New Orleans once, a few years before Katrina. I thought the place was pure evil. I think Vegas is one of the greatest places ever. People go there and drink, and gamble, and goof around....but it is almost all happy and pure. In New Orleans, people drink and gamble and goof around, but it's the eye of satan in people.....just a disgusting combo....pure anarchy of morals and judgement. Couldn't pay me to go to New Orleans......
  20. Raziel....I've huffed and puffed....and blown the house down in the past...but it isn't worth it! We're talking about a bunch of overgrown children making millions to do something we PAY to watch! The best part of the season to me was the lockout. Everyone here was talking about important things like life...and kids...and drinking...and boobies! Speaking of which, I like the avatar addition. ;) I'm glad you are back. I'm sorry for going over the top and being overbearing at times. There is a fine line between truthful entertainment, and being a jerk. Sometimes I cross the line a tad....but there is nothing I would like more than for all of us to celebrate together one day. Glad you are back! :nana:
  21. If it makes people feel better, I have the giant photo of Larry Playfair punching a Bruin in the face that was on display at the Art Gallery. The Sabres auctioned it off for charity after the exhibit closed.
  22. At least he should be back for Feb 10 and Feb 15......
